Hi SBD'ers!
I haven't been on this board much since the first few weeks I was on South Beach but I thought it would be a good service for me to check in and give people who are just starting some encouragement.
I began the diet on January 1st weighing 283 lbs. I wore size 48 pants and 3X shirts. As of today, I am at 252 lbs, none of my pants fit me at all...I just went shopping and comfortably fit into size 40 jeans and XL shirts. For the first time in years I bought clothes from somewhere other than a big and tall store!
I went to the driving range the other day on my lunch hour and when I got back to my office, my secretary said, "James called (someone I haven't seen for a while) and asked me what you were wearing today. He thought he saw you at the driving range but he wasn't sure since you looked so skinny he figured it must have been someone else."
I still have a while to go...I'd like to be about 225...but, I am really freaking happy!!!!

| Hey Griffin! I've lost about 30 pounds since January too! It's so exciting to see clothes sizes in my closet that I haven't seen since the early 1990's! :P I'm sure you're looking great and feeling even better! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your success! |

| :) Good Job, I also started January 1, lost 30 lbs today.....What a great feling.. Went from a size 12 to a 4. There really is cuter clothes in smaller sizes. |

30lbs took all of you guys a long ways... i really hope it will be the same for me!!
I want that 36 inch waist.. i am at 40 right now...i hope i can do it!!

That's awsome! Keep up the good work! It's really nice to have a forum where we can all go and encourage each other. I know that's been the key to my success. I too have been on SBD since mid Jan, and have also lost 30 pounds. I love to look at my stomach in the mirror now. It's so much smaller than it used to be. Don't know what my target goal is, I originally started with the intention of lowering my blood pressue and cholestrol. Both of these goals have been accomplished! :-)
I just take it 5 pounds at a time, and celebrate. |

| I'm right there with you guys, I started january 5, I've lost 31 pounds, I'm losing 1 lb. steady per week, feel great, I still need 20 more lbs. to get to my goal of 140... :D |

Congrats!
I'm in the midst of a stall myself. I lost 18 pounds in the first 3 1/2 weeks, then zilch for the last week.
Anyway, I'm also a 3X guy hoping to someday buy something someplace other than a big-'n-tall store or the fattie rack in Walmart. |
