Has anybody ever heard of this diet before?
Do you have a typical day of food, and do you know anybody that tried it before? |

| It's pretty much like SB but more of a meditterean flair like the veggies and red wine. |

| I agree with toese. My brother was put on it after his heart attack. probably less of an emphasis on whole grains with the mediterranean. What is on it that isn't on SBD that gives you more variety? |

Well I think it is kind of like south beach, just watch it more with fatty meats, bacon, steak, eggs.
Eat more fruits, wheat breads, you can have a little potatoes, corn, and brown sugar.
It has more recipes.. I still love south beach, I was just having problems with the 2 weeks, and then will stress out in phase 2 dont know, I have food issues, I eat too much sometimes, I am scared of gaining too much weight. |

| The first phase is only 10 days. I think you start out able to eat whole grains. I have the book. It is much more structured. I did not get through the book. |

| You can have grains and fruit on phase 1 its really more concerned with portion size rather than what sb does |

| Is Mediterranean food fairly healthy and good for you in general? I have been doing the SB diet for some time and I do all the cooking around here but my boyfriend is going to start cooking because I am working more and he is big on Mediterranean. |

| To me it also seems like a modification of SB - probably I'll try it out in the future cuz I love mediteranean food! |

| Or SB was a modification of it... ;) there is nothing particularly new or revolutionary about SB. just well packaged and well marketed. It really combines a lot of concepts from other plans and most healthy eating plans tend to converge around common foods; lean proteins, mono and poly unsaturated fats, whole grains, lots of vegetables and fruits while avoiding refined flours, sugars, and other over processed and convienence foods. It ain't rocket science!! :) |
