I don't know, whoever has the guts to go on national tv and american idol has to know that they will get laughed at. They have seen the show so they know what to expect.
I don't feel sorry for them. I also think that some of them went on there to be nerdy and funny. That is what the first 2 weeks are for. they do it on purpose.
Also, some of then need to know the truth ...
Anyhoo ... thats my scoop/ |

Oh, I have plenty of criticism for my very best students. I just mean the students of mine who are already pretty bad need to be built up a bit because they are already beaten down. For many of them they just lack the confidence. I don't tell them they're going to win honors! I just tell them that I can tell they really practiced or something like that.
We just finished watching the Seattle auditions too and the judges really are just mean this year! |

Paula's saving grace: she does try to come across as sympathetic (even when she's laughing or snickering).

I too like this portion of the audition process for some laughs, but they do seem to be putting on a lot more bad than good than in previous years. I'm hoping it doesn't continue... I do like seeing/hearing some good performers so you can continue to root for them when they get to Hollywood and then if they even get into the top 12!!
Maybe those cities just had more really bad singers... We'll see next week. |

| hey guys, give Paula a break. She has a very painful condition called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and requires massive amounts of pain killers. If she was drinking alcohol with those, she would be dead, so keep that it mind. Yeah, doses of morphine in the region of up to a thousand milligrams a day might make most people a little off the cuff........ |

Someone else wrote: Doesn't replacing Paula Abdul with Courtney Love sort of defeat the purpose of replacing Paula Abdul? It's like getting bit by your pet dog and deciding to replace it with an angry polar bear that hasn't eaten in two weeks. Yeah, Paula Abdul is usually drunk and incoherent, but if they put Courtney Love on the show she'd spend 90% of the time crawling on the floor crying and calling up old boyfriends to take her back. Then she'd start dry humping a trashcan before throwing up and muttering about how embarrassed she is as she falls asleep.
I agree! |

| Yea, i'm over the talent-less portion too. I can't wait for hollywood! They never show any of the good auditions..maybe 1 out of 10 is someone who knows how to sing. Its funny and all, but it drags on a bit too long... |

| I was actually surprised that Randy and Simon didn't put that pretty girl in. The young one w/ dark hair that her mom just realized she can sing. She kinda looks like Eva Longoria. I think she was the 2nd to the last to audition. Do you guys know who I am talking about? I thought she sung good but they said she sung through her nose but most of them did that anyways. |

| You're right Toese, she sounded really great to me. I do know there is a difference between singing with your diaphragm or through your nose, but I can't tell the difference. I'm sure if you are more professional you can. My roommate used to sing opera! |

| Sometimes the only thing I can come up with is that they sound so different in person than on TV. That happens ALL THE TIME once the show really gets going. DH and I (and we are trained muscians) hear something completely different than the comments they get. I thought that girl was pretty good too and didn't notice her singing through nose except maybe on a few notes. |

I agree Toese. I was SHOCKED they didn't let her through. Seemed like so many with less talent made it though earlier  . Was it because she was so young, do you think?
On with the TALENT!

| I think it may have been that she was young and her maturity level maybe. She may make it next year if she tries out for it again. |

I liked the cute young boy.
Chris Daughtry is coming here in March!!! Just have to decide how many tickets we need...YES...I'm going! I really like his voice.
