| I am on day 6 of phase 1. I know I shouldn't weigh myself everyday,but... I lost 3 pounds and 2 inches off my waist in the 1st 2 days. I haven't budged since. I have at LEAST 75 pounds to lose and thought I would lose more because of that. I have read and reread the book and I'm am not following the daily menu exactly, I am only eating things from the list. Am I doing something wrong? I'm afraid that I missed or misunderstood something. I really want to stick with this, but a big part of picking SB was the great jumpstart it gives you. I guess I just need a little advice and encouragment. Thanks for listening to my whining. |

I lost nothing for the 1st 3 days, 11 pounds from day 4 to day 11, and 1 pound from day 12-17 (where I am now).
everybody's body has unpredictable "fits and starts" of weight loss. |

medu4b,
I think you've already given yourself the best piece of advice....now listen to it! Stay off those scales. Give yourself the full two weeks THEN weigh yourself. You're only adding to your frustration by weighing yourself so often.

I didn't lose any the first 3 days of P1, now I'm on day 8 and down 6 pounds. Drinking more water really helped me. Be patient, it works.

| I know how u feel. TOday is day 7 on P1 for me, and I weighed myself, and I lost 0 lbs. from day one. (haven't lost any inches either) The first few days I lost 3-4 lbs, and they slowly came back. I've beening eating a lot because I'm not feeling satisfied without my carbs, but the book says we don't have to portion control. I'm not looking to lose a lot of weight, just 10 lbs. I didn'n't think it would be so hard. Is it possible, that this diet doesn't work for certain people? |

| I don't think y'all should worry so much. I'm on day 9 and have only lost 1.6lbs. I'm pretty sure I've lost in inches too, but I didn't measure myself until day 8, so I can't compare. While I'm dissapointed that I didn't lose 8-13lbs like many others, I know that my slow and steady process will be just as good. I have a feeling that my low amount of water consumption has something to do with the slow weight loss also. Today I'm going to begin working out again to see if that jumpstarts my metabolism, too. Good luck everyone and don't worry. In the end, just be happy that you're losing...if you stick to it, everything will fall into place eventually. |

jengo,
we sound like weare in the same boat. the little losers club is a good thread for people with 10lbs or so to lose. Iam so frustrated i could scream! Day 8 and not a change to be found(except maybe my skin) i also haven't been measuring and i eat whenever i'm hungry(something off the list) usually fish, beans, hummus, veggies, peanut butter sometimes. i exercise and drink water too??? Feel free to correspond maybe we can talk eachother off the roof when we want to give up! :) good luck! |

I've been on Phase 1 for about 5 weeks now I think...maybe a little more. I've cheated a few times (a couple of beers twice, french fries once, and orange juice twice - I was visiting a friend in Denver and ignored the diet as much as I could). so in those 5-6 weeks I have lost a total of 10 pounds. I weigh every day and it goes up 1, down 1, up 1.5, down .5, up .5, down 2, etc etc. gradually it is going down...BUT...today I wore a dress to work that I bought 3 months ago (on ebay) I couldn't wear it when I got it and then gained a couple more pounds and REALLY couldn't wear it. Tried it on when I started on SBD and was pretty depressed but this morning - it fit great, looked great, got compliments today....who would have thought that 10 pounds would do that? I haven't measured at all (too chicken; don't want to know) but I know that all along I have been losing inches/sizes way out of proportion to the weight loss.
I keep going back to advice I read on this forum somewhere back at the beginning - pull out a pair of pants or a skirt or dress that is too small. Try it on once a week regardless of what the scale says - it's a great way to measure your progress! It might also remind you to try on some of your other clothes that have been too tight - I completely bypassed a couple of things that I had been looking forward to wearing - they were too small and now they're too big! |

jengo,
YES! I cheated on sunday night, cookies, cookies and more cookies. however, got right back on it and besides sundays pig-out, and a monday morning lapse(small nonfat full sugar vanilla tea latte) i've been very good. i still haven't had a change in body, although i did start my period this morning???as if that really matters with inches. Yes, i'm frustrated, but it's starting to become more of a game now, I REFUSE to quit w/out seeing body results. also, my skin is really looking good, i attribute that to the salmon/tuna protein that i rarely eat. i'm feeling more energized and that keeps me going. I have not lost an inch though!!!! I'm going to try to cut back on portions, although it didn't seem like i was eating all that much(how can you eat too much baked salmon and dry veggies?) i have a dinner party on may 8yh and i'm determined to see a difference by then!!!! How about you? |

| I cheated today. day 11 one phase 1. I was a half hour late for work and need to leave 2 1/2 hours early...so, no lunch break...the only frozen dinner I had here was a lean cuisine - deluxe baked potato (from before I was on SB)....it was oh, so gooooood, but now I feel like a cheat. Back in the saddle again for dinner tonight -- gingered chicken with oven roasted veggies.... |

| I so needed to find this thread tonight! I am on day 11 of P1 and have lost one pound. I was actually down 5 a few days ago and it is coming back! I have been very good except for Sunday when I had pasta salad at a party. Just now, I had 2 cookies because I am so frustrated! I want to lose 25 pounds (I'm 5'6" and weigh 167) I feel great, which I know is important but I want to lose this weight!! I think I'm going to stay on P1 for another week. |

| It's comforting to know that everyone's cheated. After I cheated, I felt like I ruined the whole process and was ready to give up. I've decided to keep on going. I'm also determined to go until I see results. I'm hoping that the weight gain is from working out. :) I'm trying to get fit for a wedding on May 15th. I hope everyone has a great week. Let's try to stay away from the cookies!!! |

This is what I keep telling myself:
-So what if I didn't loose any/enough weight yet. I am doing the best I can, I am not cheating, and at some point, the weight will come off.
And what is the alternative? If I quit dieting I will for sure gain more weight and be more miserable.
Last spring I went on a self designed 800 calories a day diet when I ran one hour every morning and one hour after work. It was awful and after 4 months I had 'only' lost 20lb.
Now I realized I had gained 10lb back and panicked.
So I started SBD and hope to loose the 10lb again, but I know it will take a long, long time. (Much longer than it took to gain, I'm sure).
Keep up the good work everyone! Don't quit! You're all doing great!
