ok, I'm guilty and also =notice a LOT of newbies just jumping into the threads, posting new threads asking questions, without searching the stickies FAQ's .... (I have poured through a lot of info... and learned a lot but might have missed some and asking questions still that are already answered, sorry folks! but I want to do this RIGHT and for life!)

So, I was thinking, before they can sign on, or post new thread, perhaps have a page that comes up telling them to make sure to double check the stickie's area.

Some of the resident VETS are patient, kind and helpful... but many times the same questions are asked over, and over, and over...

Does this make sense?

Yes but unlikely impossible to implement. The person (System Admin) who actually controls the boards would be the only person who could implement something like this and she is not an active owner. The mods just have basic edit/delete and ban control types of capabilities. We really can't do too much. Plus if new members cannot find the numerous stickies pointing to the FAQs, Rules of the Forum, and so forth, they probably wouldn't read an introductory email either. Different people just operate differently. I doubt there is any way to change that.

I know you were. Thanks! Perhaps I am just being too pessimistic from getting worn down here for so long. She did just enable the feature that requires registrants to give a valid email and confirm their registration from a link in an automated email sent to them when they complete their registration info that I think has helped cut down on the SPAM crap at least a little bit. She is not completely absent or insensitive to our needs. Just not around much to see what goes on here regularly I think and I also suspect writing something in English is not her strong suit as I believe it is her second language. You are welcome to PM or email her. There is a link at the bottom of most of the pages that launches an email response or you can find her profile as "sbdiet" from the Memberlist link at the top of the page and send her a PM from there. She is the first person who joined! It may take a few days for her to pick up her PMs, but I think she gets them eventually.
