This is the name of a new book by a couple of doctors, whose names I didn't catch (sorry). These two doctors were on the Oprah Show. It was a very interesting show. They showed how fat is formed and looks (gross), lots of graphics. What was particularly interesting is their new book entitled, "You on a Diet" is basically the South Beach Diet. They encourage eating good fats (like those in nuts and olive oil), discourage sugars, discourage white flours and encourage whole wheat, drink lots of water. I wondered if they simply purchased The South Beach Diet book and put it in a different format.

They did have a couple of helpful hints, something that I do, but didn't realize that it was helpful. They said it was good to have very little variety in breakfast and lunch, so that you don't really have to think or plan those two meals very much. For example, choose perhaps one of three different breakfasts, one being eggs and turkey bacon, two being fruit with steal-cut oatmeal, and the third being a piece of fruit and cold whole wheat cereal. They said to have basically the same lunch everyday, again so that you don't have to think about it. I generally have a salad everyday, just alternating the dressing I use. I hope that I'm describing this correctly.

Did anyone else pick up anything helpful from the show?

Hi there! I saw it too and thought exactly the same thing.
Very similar to SBD if no tthe exact same. I do wonder if their program has the 2 week phase 1 type of situation?

I love Dr OZ

Hi everyone,
After being on SB for several months my weight loss came to a complete standstill. I couldn't lose an ounce to save my life. When I saw Dr. Oz on Oprah, I decided 'what the heck, I don't have anything to lose'. It was by far the best decision I've made in a long time! I have been on the 'YOU' program for a little over 4 weeks and have lost 17 pounds and 3 inches from my waist. Another HUGE benefit was that my cholesterol dropped....are you ready for this......60 points!

Dr. Oz's program is very similiar to SB with a few extremely important differences. The main factor is absolutely NO High Fructose Corn Syrup. None. That means no more of those yummy sf fudgesicles. But believe me, the tradeoff has been well worth it. If you have a chance I highly recommend checking out the website at www.realage.com.
What have you got to lose?????????????

I'm confused though, because we don't eat this either :? !! It is worse than regular sugar and metabolizes in a weird way in our bodies.

The Dr. Oz diet is VERY similar to SBD. One difference I noticed is he advocates fruit juice.

I was confused in the begining too. Until I REALLY started reading labels. I found that even most canned beans have some form of added sugar. I was shocked to say the least. Granted, it now takes me three times as long to shop, but I read EVERY label. Its amazing how many forms of sugar are 'hidden' in the products that we eat!!!

I'm not saying one Dr.s way is better than another, I just know that it's working for me. The scale is finally moving in the downward direction (and rather rapidly). I couldn't be happier!

Stay strong and do what works best for you!

i read all labels too.

the phase 1 faq lists "beans -(fresh, frozen or canned without added sugar)"

it's a good idea to read labels, and everyone should do it (i think most on sb do)!

glad you found something that works for you! :D
