| I really would like my account cancelled, not username changed but cancelled because all my posts can be found by using my username to check google and changing it will still keep all my information on google. How can I delete my account?! |

An administrator can delete your registration. It will be like you were never here.

| FYI, the administrator might be able to do this, but the moderators cannot. |

That's true, Red... only an Admin can delete registrations.

might be faster then to just go in and edit all the posts to say deleted
and have the mods change your name to guest2002 or something. |

| In fact this is likely true if you have a limited number of posts. Our admin. is pretty much MIA most of the time. PMs to her will go unread for weeks at a time. emails never seem to get answered. So board management falls pretty much solely on the moderators who have only limited functionality. Thank goodness she finally gave us "ban control" and member profile access (gives us the ability to change screen names among other things) about a year ago. That helped us be more responsive to a number of different situations. Must be nice to be on a board with an active and present admin. type though! ;) |

Red... it must be very frustrating to NOT have one available! I worry about the forums when I'm not there on a long weekend away with my family. lol Our site now requires an admin activation for all new registrations before the new member can post. We got SO tired of the spam and junk being posted (totally inappropriate for a weight loss support group). I check the new registrations 4 or 5 times a day to activate the "real" people and delete the spammers/porners/advertisers. It's really helped to cut out the junk no one wants to see on a SBD website. I'm glad you've got some access to the admin stuff to help your members. Too bad you couldn't get admin status, yourself. I know you do alot for your site, it would only make sense. Your site is HUGE compared to ours! Ours is growing smaller by the day, though... as I dump the junk. ;) I figure the ratio of real to spam registrations is about 1:12. Pretty sad.
Good luck!
