When I scan my pictures they are sent to me as a pdf file and I can't seem to post them; can anybody help?

Were they bigger to start with? Most hosting sites will resize pics to save bandwidth. When you upload to image shack, make sure you are choosing an appropriate image size in the dropdown next to the check box that says "resize image?". If you are leaving it set to the default of 320 x 240 that may be part of the problem. 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 works OK here. Depends if you want to start forcing the horizontal scroll bars to appear with particularly large pictures. You can also upload larger pictures and just post the "thumbnail" into your posts here, so folks here can see the smaller image, but click on it to see the larger one stored at ImageShack if they want to see it in more detail.
Not sure what you mean by scanned pictures being sent to you as a .pdf file. These are pics you scan yourself or have scanned commercially? Either way you should be able to either change a setting on your scanner software to specify .jpg or tell the scanning service you want .jpg files to avoid this situation. I've never used a scanner, but there must be a way to change the output file setting somewhere. |
