Anyone here been on WW. I went on WW after I had my twins in May 2003, I lost 55lbs and was thrilled. Then I decided to be a stay at home mom, and have been for almost 2 years now, and I have gained 40lbs of it back. I guess once I lost all that weight and wasn't working outside the home, (I do run a small daycare in my home)it became difficult to stay within my points. When I was working I could back a Lean cursine meal or ww meal, and I wasn't around food, so I was able to stick within my points. I've tryed several times to get back on ww, and failed everytime. So I"m now trying SB. It's been very fustrating and depressing that i"ve gained almost all that weight I lost back. None of my clothes fit. Does anyone know what I'm comming from ?

I am in the exact same situation, I started ww about 3 years ago, lost 45 pounds thought I could do it on my own so I stopped going to the meetings and gained all but 5 pounds of it back! I tried to start ww last month and gained 4 pounds my 1st 3 weeks, then lost it and back to where I started. It's very frustrating I know, none of my clothes fit anymore either not even my "fat clothes" it's very depressing and I feel like I needed to make some changes so now I'm starting SB also. So Yes I know exactly where you are coming from. You're not alone!!!

I was on WW for over 20 years losing, gaining, losing, gaining. I think the program is designed this way to keep people coming forever.
I've been more successful in 4 months on sb that a year on WW. I could kick myself for all the time, money and years that I wasted there.
SB is so easy and I never feel deprived. I would recommend this way of eating to everyone. I've never eaten so healthy in all my life.
I find WW allows too much freedom and not enough accountability. Good luck on sb, it works!

what do you mean?

see i'm more successful on SBD than WW but SBD gives me way more freedom. and now that i'm accountable to ME and ME alone.... not the MAGIC pay my money get on the scale and talk to the lecturer ideal, I find that it's done for ME and that it's become habit and choice

I agree with LBN - that SBD gives you more freedom. I been on WW 6 times in the past 20 years. Each time, I only lost a maximum of 8lbs. I felt hungry all the time, and I was never full. Even when they came up with the lower carb plan a few years ago. SBD has allowed me to eat better, and healthier without feeling like I'm giving up something I really want. I've found that when I eat the SB way, I don't even think about or miss the other foods that I would eat in huge quantities, and still be hungry afterwards. If anything, WW created and insatiable appetite, that only made me want to eat more. That's not freedom to me. That's a set up for binging. The longest I ever stayed on WW was 4 weeks. But if money was short that week, or if my schedule changed and I couldn't get to a meeting, I immediately felt like I was failing. With SB, I have a meeting with myself when journal my food and how I feel. If I have questions or need motivation, I have the MB here. That's freedom to me.

As far as gaining weight back, I've always gained back whatever I lost plus additional weight. Each time I dieted, I gained an additional 10lbs above my starting weight each time. I have a closet full of clothes, some have never been worn, because I would by them thinking I would been in a certain size at a certain date, only to end up bigger than when I started.
My fat clothes didn't fit either. Since starting SB June, I've noticed that I'm losing weight in different places that I didn't use to lose weight in before. This makes me look different and my clothes fit differently, even though I've only lost 12.5lbs. You know you are doing something when you have to buy new underwear

I've been on doing SB now for 8 weeks. And now it is starting to change the way my family eats, which is helping me. I've never experienced that big of a change with WW. To me that's real freedom. :D

Yes! Buying new underwear can be a pretty encouraging thing. Especially when you're going down in size rather than up!

As far as WW go, I do realize that it may work for some people. Just not for me. Someone posted on anothe forum (or maybe it was on this one) that WW is a weight loss plan and SBD is a Healthy Lifestyle. I guess that's why I could never do it successfully. I never looked at WW as something I could do for the rest of my life. SBD let you know right from the beginning that is was a healthier way of eating, therefore a life changing event.

I've heard of some people combining the two by eating the SB friendly foods, but using the WW flex points to regulate how many calories they take in. If it works for them.....GR8. But I think it unnecessary if you follow the suggested portion sizes from SBD and exercise suggestions, you Will lose weight.

With WW, not only did my bank account get smaller, but my grocery bill got bigger because of all the WW products I bought, just to have convenience in counting the points. At least on SBD, might grocery bill went up just a bit, but my bank account is surviving nicely.

Yep!....I'm a true believer in SB WOL! :D
