Any suggestions for when you're out shopping or running errands for hours....used to be I would grab a bagel somewhere, or a muffin or a cookie (while grabbing a coffee of course) but now I can't think of anything and I never seem to remember to throw string cheese in my purse before I go. My strategy has been to just starve until I get home (has probably saved me money :? ) but if anyone has any ideas about what might be good to grab at a coffee place, or little lunch type place? I haven't even stopped in anywhere because I'm afraid I'll buy something terrible...
Thanks! |

Turkey and cheese sandwich, take off bread and make a roll up!
Or most Starbucks have tuna salad sandwiches, same thing, don't eat the bread and hope they don't put carrots in it.
I have grabbed pre slice celery and a tub of hummus at the grocery store in a pinch! |

| You can carry string cheese or one portion of nuts (measured out beforehand and put in a baggie) in your purse. If I'm out and hungry, salads at Wendys or Subway is always a good bet. |

I also vote for taking an individually wrapped string cheese w/ you. Also you can buy individual packets of nuts to keep in your purse. Water bottle is a must.
If you are on the go quite a bit - keep a small cooler in your car and stock it before you leave w/ things like water, string cheese, celery & laughing cow cheese, tofu cubes, diced cooked chicken or whatever is appropriate for your phase.
I also vote for salads if you are eating lunch/dinner out.
I know packing the cooler can be pain but the results are worth it.
Good luck! |

I'm going to have to get more organized, I can tell. I always have a water bottle with me but packing a cooler...I don't know, it just seems like such a commitment - right now, if I head to the store thinking I need to try on a pair of shoes and get distracted and am gone for hours...I can say I just lost track of time  . However, if I actually pack a cooler full of snacks and goodies...well, let's just say that my husband will never believe that the bags I bring home were an accident!!!
I'll try though. Those little snack size zip lock baggies are great for 15 almonds, or whatever...and they fit nicely into a purse or pocket...ok. no more excuses! |
