 I am on my 10th day and have felt so tired and no-energy for a few days. I just want to drag around. It is making me doubt this diet. :(
Also, I have only lost 3 lbs. I have only messed up three times. Once, with steak sauce. Once with plain oatmeal 1/2 cup no sugar. Once with bologna, no bread tho. I need encouragement. Help!!

Don't give up!
You will only feel a lot worse than you do now. Keep it up.
I'm on day 11 of P1, and I know exactly what you mean about feeling tired with no energy, I'm going through it too. I'm trying to keep up my gym use, but there have been times in the past 11 days, where I have had to really tell myself to go!
From what I have read, it will get better once you SLOWLY start to had some 'good carbs' back into your body.
Stick with it girl, its just your bodies way of adjusting to the lack of those nasty carbs!
It will all be worth it. You've got this far!

I want to read a message from you soon saying you've successfully reached P2!!!!!!!!!

Cheryl, hang in there!

I know exactly how you feel. That was one of my biggest beefs about this diet is that P1 makes you feel like garbage. However, once you get past that, P2 is a very healthy way to eat. I'll tell you, that first apple on day one of P2 is like HEAVEN - and you start to feel energized! Hang in there, and I agree with Great Brit, write back and tell us how you are doing. I think we all hit those days where we get discouraged (I sure hit mine a couple of days ago). In the long run, you will be very glad you did.

I never feel like cleaning up or doing much during the day, but thats normal!
what I'm wondering is, do people feel unusually crappy the first few minutes they wake up in the morning? Its not that bad but not so great.

I've posted this here before, but it 's good info and may help you:

This posted by KarylA on prevention.com for SBD:

"Beans are a very good thing for people in phase 1 to eat on probably day 3 or 4. This is for a couple of specific reasons and I will outline a few of them.
One: glycogen(stored muscle energy) is depleted by doing phase 1 very strictly, because the veggies are low GI and you are not eating grains, so you need a slow release carb.
Two: fibers, soluble and insoluble, are needed in all phases for proper digestion and utilitzation of nutrients, and beans have plenty of it.
Three: nutrients in beans are different from other foods, and we need a lot of variety in nutrient input.
So, please, if you think you are feeling unwell on phase 1 and getting lethargic, headachy, etc. try some beans. Don't have to eat a lot of them! just a half cup will do a lot of good. If you can do that twice in a couple of days, phase 1 will be much easier"

Thanks to you four for the encouragement. 12th day now and I have regained some energy by eating beans. You didn't say if it is ok to eat canned beans so I did anyway. Is it okay? I had northern beans 2/3 cup once a day for two days.

I have only lost the 3 pounds tho. I am taking lexapro. Will that interfere with progressive weight loss? I am drinking lots of water and following the rules. Still discouraged  .

Cheryl :( :?

Cheryl, hang in there! Yes, canned beans are OK to eat. About the lexapro, the posts I've read indicate that yes, it will slow weight loss. But I think if you hang in there and keep up the good eating, it will happen for you. Maybe you're one of those people who release several pounds quickly on Phase 2? :) Keep drinking 64 or more ounces of water every day, too, it will flush out the bad stuff. Are you exercising at all? I find a short walk (even around the mall, if the weather's bad) lifts my spirits AND my metabolism! The 3 pounds probably doesn't sound like much to you, but it's 3 pounds you didn't have before, and at least you're not gaining! You can do this, wait the 2 more days and add in a carb, it may help you a lot. Good luck!

Cheryl, congratulations on making it to Phase 2!! I see you did lose 5 lbs., so that's good, too. I hope you're feeling better now, it sounds like you have a bright attitude, and that helps. Hang in there! And thanks for letting us know how you're doing. (P.s.--loved your kitty pic! :D )

Hi Cheryl. Congratulations on your 5 lb loss! That is fabulous! Stick with this, and you'll be so surprised at how the weight will fall off. Are you taking vitamins? My Dr. told me that it's essential to take them with diet. Good luck to you. I can't wait to hear how you progress!

Are you taking any vitamin supplements? That has been the key to my not feeling aweful. I take a multivitamin, a calcium, green tea, ginseng, and vitamin c. The green tea will boost your metabolism and the ginseng is for energy. I recommend that if you are not taking supplements then you start. Good luck, and please don't give up. I feel great on this diet. You will too!!!!

I think that it just takes time for your body to adjust to the new way of eating. I stayed on P1 for 2 months and 1 week and after the first 13 days I felt great! I had more energy than I have had in years, I didnt have the bloated feeling after eating that I used to have, and my migraines went away, I havent had a migraine in over 3 1/2 months now.
I recently switched to P2 and I am noticing that I am gaining back a bit of weight, so I am starting back on P1 for awhile, and waiting to go see my doc about a thyroid test, Hopefully they can find something to explain my sudden weight gain after having lost 34 pounds.

Thank you to everyone. Today was a good day. Yes, I do take vitimins. Not a multivitimin tho. I take about 12 individual ones. E, C, antioxidant, folic acid, betaC, soy + calcium, coral calcium, potassium, B-6, bio-flex, sometimes B-12 and gensing (not in a while). My dh thinks this is better for me.

I had some butter beans with green leaf lettuce for lunch and have had energy today. Haven't been too active tho. The true test will be at my next practice day which is on saturday. You guys are all my wonderful friends now. I have never met such nice people. I feel so cared for. Thank you and God bless you all. :)
