| My husband found a sweetener called Xylitol, and it says it is sugar alcohol. Is that OK, or not? It also has added Stevia. I have no idea what that is! Does anyone know about this stuff? |

| Sugar alcohols (anything -tol) are okayish, but you have to use them very cautiously. They cause bloating, diarrhea, and other problems in that region if you eat too much of a sugar alcohol product. They're also somewhat high in calories, so really watch your intake and keep it under that 75 calorie daily treat allowance. |

stevia is a natural product onto itself.. it's way major sweet .. alittle goes a long way.. it's diabetic safe.. can buy in health food store..
it is not yet FDA approved..
i use it.. |

Equal seems fine from a dietary standpoint, but it is aspartame-based. You can read about aspartame on many websites and make your own decision:
