Please help, mods...
I registered with my yahoo e-mail previously, but cannot remember my old username.
I re-registered using my work e-mail but would like to change it to my yahoo mail. The board will not let me, because it says it's already in use.

Do you remember any of the characters in your old user name? Would "kendra" be in it for instance? I clicked on the IP feature we have as mods which tells us what users have posted from what IP addresses, but your current user name is the only one that comes up from the IP address you posted this from, so perhaps you have also changed ISPs in the meantime or are using a different computer?
As moderators, we have no way of searching the member list by email address. We can search the user name database with wild card characters so searching for *kendra* turned up 3 names:
Kendra Steadman
kendra4392
kendrasmom (your current ID)
That's why I asked if you remember any part of your old user name. I can run a search and see what it comes back with in terms of matches and you can see if any of them match up with what you remember. It still won't give you password info though, so hopefully you either remember it or use a limited set of passwords regardless of the site. (I can change the PW too, but am reluctant to do that without some kind of proof of identity first. like PMing me your yahoo email address.)
Not much help, but that is the best we can do as moderators. The system admin might have greater search capabilities at the database access level. |
