Ok-Flipping the dog to fullwheel. The hand you landed down first in flipped dog is moved clockwise to get to bridge. Elbow pushes up to the air. We do that one. Really use your hips and lift them high to get in position to turn hand cockwise whem moving from dog to wheel. Gibberish?

I got it yesterday at the pool. On the lawn not IN the pool! Makes more sense to me if I don't go through flipped dog and just spin into it. coming back out if it in the reverse direction is another matter though! ;) Played with a lot of stuff yesterday on the grass. t'was fun!

Sounds like great fun and eye candy for all the female sunbathers!!! My husband thought I was a lunatic for trying to figure out how I get into the pose and what I do with my hands. Labrador too!
Yoga is fun!!!!! Can't survive without it now-Breathe has become such a part of my life. Thanks again Rox for getting me hooked!

you're welcome and thanks for allowing yourself to become hooked! ;) yeah some of the kids were looking at me strangely too. I was back by the sand volleyball court away from most of the crowds, but it was so crowded on the 4th that I'm sure some probably enjoyed the view. ;) Mostly though I was working on stuff that I can't do and none of the pretty flow movements so probably looked more "weird" than "cool". Best pose of the day was just seeing how long I could stay in headstand. Should've tried timing it, but I'm guessing 3 minutes or so. (might be exaggerating!) Keep thinking I might try to work towards the 5 and 10 minute marks, but would require more practice of just that at home and I never seem able to make the time to do it! Just finding the 20 mins to meditate is enough for now! ;)

I do love it so much! Today bow/dancer pose felt great and so did Warrior 3s. Balance was better on left than right but everyone has a favorite side for balance poses methinks. Today I made headway on side crow. All about getting on my tiptoes just like front crow. Long headstand today as my last inversion and it felt like a 5 minute long one but in actuality maybe over a minute! It's great fun to work on the next modification or pose. Namaste!

Well glad you had a good one today. worst ever in a long time for me. perhaps did not fuel or hydrate well, although thought I did both OK. oh well, tomorrow is another day...

we started with a minute headstand, so perhaps my 3 minutes was a bit of an exaggeration! ;) I find it interesting that the advanced classes are starting to work more with blocks and straps. Kind of a big change to their previous philosophy it seems but one I enjoy. Maybe they are using then more in the intro classes too, but I just don't see it because I'm not in them.

We used straps today too. She started us on our backs today and did core work first. Very different! Then we moved through our sun as and bs and the rest flowed. While standing in straddle we raised one elbow up in air w/ strap held in hand and put behind our back/neck and then grabbed end w/ opposite hand and folded body. Then we kept arm position and came up, turned forward and used it to move into forward fold and then reverse triangle. She often lets us choose reverse namaste hands or hand position of our choice. Modifying w/ blocks is smart-I think at times especially in reverse triangle a block can really make a difference in squaring the hips and getting them back not forward. 8)

Better day today. A bit cooler and less humid in the room and Lisa's classes just always work better for me.

Do you use essential oils in your yoga practice?

Heather always has an array of oils out on the counter for her classes. I like "Pep Talk" before and "Grey Matter Batter" after! ;) Pep Talk is kind of orangey and is supposed to be invigorating and the GMB has mints and something else that is cooling. Individual instructors will also often walk around and spray an aromatherapy spray near/over you during savasana, but give the option of opting out if you don't want it by raising your hand. But I don't own any of my own. If it's free I'll use them! ;) In general I like them, but not really sure they do much other than smell good! The GMB does chill a bit when you hit a breeze or open air after though it seems.

Is that what you meant? ;)

We use these essential oils that look like this
http://www.breathe-yoga.com/shop_breathe.php?c=PYE0
They are wonderful and used only in certain classes(Fridays at 3:30 is an essential oils class). She will drip a drop in your palm and then usually have you place it on a chakra. I use the lavender, but some are really pricey but wonderful.

Heather uses this brand and line: http://www.auracacia.com/dspCatPct.php?ct=anpceoes&br=Aura%20Cacia
They are more blends of multiple oils. nothing quite as guided as your place, but that's the nature of corporate yoga vs individual studio yoga. which chakra you usually working with with the oils? george II

Most often it is the heart(Anahatha) chakra, throat (Visudda), feet or third eye(Ajana). Depends on which oil she chooses mostly. I own the lavender and put it on my heart before we start. I love the scent. 8)

nice! 8) We tend to use lavender oils in water in the "air freshener" spray bottles in the studios. Spray a bunch of that around in the air between classes and we're good to go! :) I add a few drops of tea tree oil into my washer's "fabric softener" cup with water for my yoga clothes and mats loads. The yogitoes get very slippery with fabric softener and they don't with the tea tree oil and it helps with the "mat stink" too!

Having trouble with sweat pouring in my ears during heated vinyasa classes. AWFUL and distracting!!! May have to go to a banadana or head band. Anybody else have this problem?????
