Does anyone else get pop up ads from an "adult" website while viewing this site? It happens to me every time I come online, but only when I am on this particular site...never on any others. It's rather discouraging...just when I think I'm really making progress these half naked girls pop up on the screen! (LOL). Any ideas on how to get rid of this? Thanks!

| Sounds like spyware installed itself somewhere on your PC. I'd do a search for free downloads of "spybot search & destroy" and "Ad-aware" and run both of those on your PC. (they each tend to find different stuff to a certain extent.) Do a full virus scan with whatever virus software you are using as well. It's not a forum issue really. Sounds like something more specific to your PC in my opinion. |

Thanks for your input! I am sure the forum doesn't initiate these pop-ups but I just couldn't figure out why I only get them when I come to this site. One of those quirky computer things I guess. I'm running ad-aware as we speak. Thanks again!

| I don't know why either. Perhaps because it comes with so many ads anyway, that there is something that triggers the resident spyware (if that is indeed the issue.) ?? Hope it finds something and helps you clear it out. It's a good thing to have running to block future spyware loads and to scan your 'puter regularly as well. Deleting cookies and temp internet files on a regular basis also frees up space and helps performance too. |
