Goin' to wear a swimsuit!

Has anyone tried th is new diet by Dr. Ian Smith. It begins the first nine days in a detoxifying phase that is all fruits and vegetables. You also get to have 2 cups of brown rice, 2 cups of LF or Skim milk, 1 cup oatmeal, 6oz low-fat yogurt, 4 egg whites per day. You can drink 2 cups of herbal tea per day besides the water you drink. The first phase is meant to detoxify the body, cure cravings, and kickstart the weight loss. After the first 9 days you add back in the meat and a little more protein items. My husband has rheumatoid arthritis in his feet and ankles and this diet has been recommended to help get rid of the toxins in his body that may be making his condition worse. I told him that if he wanted to do this I would do it with him for a while. I have been an avid beacher for the last 6 months and have lost 40 lbs. I have been struggling to lose lately even though I started an exercise program and everything. Maybe the change in diet, even though it is pretty close to the beach after the first 9 days, will help kickstart my metabolism. I am willing to do anything to help my husband feel better and I can not see this making me gain any weight. Any ideas? Anyone tried it?

Just so you all know....

I survived the first 9 days on the fat smash diet. I did crave meat a few times and for a day I craved fish. No worse cravings than I get on SBD though. I lost 5 pounds in the 9 days. I did not get all the exercise in that I was supposed to though. It was also that "time of the month" the last 4 days so I was retaining water. My husband lost 10 pounds!! I have now moved on to their phase 2. This is VERY SBD. I am going along well. The only thing I miss is the cheese. I really crave cottage cheese sometimes. I have lived on lf yogurt and 2 glasses of milk to get through those cravings. I like the diet and it has been good for me. I will keep you posted on ups and downs.
