guys ... this is horrid. the google ads on the left side of the pages ... am i the only one who's getting this? if not, can we protest? so distracting, so obnoxious.

I actually just decided to check this area to see if anyone else complained. I agree - I HATE them. Makes it harder to read the boards and is a major annoyance :twisted:

I agree---tis veeerrrry distracting.
Perhaps if everyone used the link at the bottom of the page--hmm, here it is:

and complained, nicely of course, they might consider changing it.
I do know and appreciate that this all costs and their way of paying for it {plus, probably} is by selling the ads. |

I don't like it eiether, cuz it makes it harder to read stuff on the forum, putting it at the bottom or even the left would be MUCH better.

| I agree that it's much easier, if these annoying advertisements have to be displayed, to put them on the top (where they have been) or the bottom. It really makes for a lot of wasted space on the screen as it is displayed now. |

| The sys admin responded to my PM and she will see if she can move them to the right side. It doesn't sound like they will go away or move to a more inconspicuous area. |

| I hope they can be moved. I have my computer set to a large whatever it's called so that I can read it more easily, and now I can't read anything without scrolling over to the right. That's not fun! |

We've got a great new server that is fast and dependable and I'm pretty sure those ads pay for a piece of it, so I'm not going to complain.
Try asking NBC, ABC or Fox to broadcast without commercials. (we'd be missing more than a few episodes of Lost or American Idol. These days you can't ride a bus, go to a ballgame or even a public restroom without some kind of advertisement staring you in the face.
The scrolling is a bit annoying but I'm happy that the site owner gave us a great new server with no subscription fee...(I can ignore the margins) |
