I think I'm out of the loop! I don't watch Charmed, and like BH, I've never seen top gun (but trust me it's not like I never watch T.V.!) But I do like Veni vini vici, and triple threat titans. I'm just excited to get started with this bootcamp. I really need some motivation, and there's nothing like a little healthy competition to get me going!

I haven't watched Top Gu n either

Personally, I am stuck between Veni vini vici, and triple threat titans.
If we choose the triple threat titians as a name then Veni vini vici could be our motto?

But I am happy with either :D

Hey y'all! Happy to beeeeeee in threeeeeeeeee!

I voted for Veni Vidi Vici cus it sounds like Vicki. In fact I almost typed Vicki instead of Vici.

I won't be around the boards this weekend but I'll be rarin to go Monday morning! I've got the water thing pretty well covered, so I'm going to try to add some flavor to my water for my own twist on this part of the challenge. I hear tell that flavored water is pretty dang good. :P

Hi, is everyone preparing for monday?? 2 more sleeps!

I have a question.. I have never been great with strength training, I guess I am not sure what to do, how much, how long etc..what does everyone do in this area? Looking for suggestions of activities to try, etc...

For stretches, it can be as simple as streching after your work out right?

So, we will have Boot Camp requirements and squad requirements to follow?

oops..that was 3 questions

Have a great weekend everyone! :D

On Monday morning you should see 1 thread that says "squad 3 chat(or whatever our name ends up being" and another tread that says "squad 3 stats". There should be instructions on both of these threads that tells you what you have to post! :)

Well, do you go to a gym, or work out at home? If you go to a gym you could just stick to the machines (just look at what they work out...should be a sign on the machine). If you work out at home, you can go to a website like, for example, sparkpeople.com (LOVE this website) and sign up for free, and they give you tons of exercise options that could do at home OR at the gym. Also, any fitness magazine's website would work too. As far as repetitions and how many sets go, I think a good rule of thumb is to do 12-15 reps, and do 3 sets. For weight, pick whichever weight you can actually do 12-15 reps(if you can't even get to 12, it's too much) but make sure it's not too light(if you get to 15 and feel like you could go on for a while, it's not enough).

Hope that helped!

I believe so, yes.

Yes, they should be posted tomorrow on the "stats" thread.

Good Morning!

Thanks Beautifully Human! :D

I work out at home. I have weights, a home gym and a resistance band ( I have yet to try this one  )

Are push up, crunches, butt exercises also considered strenth training as they do not include actual weights? Dumb question, sorry!

I am just cooking and writing up my week one menu and exercise plan today so I don't have to think about it next week!

Have a great day Squad 3 :D

tyes these are considered strength, as in they build muscle,,,vs cardio which gets your HR going instead, make sense??

hopefully Sachinda will have your stuff up soon, i'll be posting my squads stuff soon, so you can get an idea if you like, S3 might be a bit different, but teh AON will be the same for sure!

Lia - you can also do squats and lunges for strength training - do you have a cable channel that has workouts - we have On Demand and it has strength workouts for abs, buts, legs, arms!
