I discovered the cure for late-night sugar cravings!!

I've been struggling the last couple weeks with after-dinner cravings for chocolate.

I originally just buckled and started eating a square or two of really deep dark chocolate, but that started to ballon into a few more squares, and a few more.

A couple nights ago, I actually ate a half a dark chocolate bar after dinner, two squares at a time.

So... I figured I needed something else to distract my brain.

... After dinner, I get up from the TV (when I usually start getting my cravings) and DO A LOAD OF LAUNDRY!!

It breaks up the danger time and distracts your mind. i was amazed at how quickly my pounding cravings passed once I did something different.

I figure if I run out laundry, there's always changing the sheets on the bed (who says they have to be changed only once a week?), which makes another load or two of laundry.

Finally, if it's still there, sweep the kitchen floor -- whether it needs it or not. These are little, 5-minute jobs that usually can be done daily, and you can keep adding them until the craving goes away.

Too bad you're not on the East Coast...I'm in VT and have *plenty* of laundry to share!

I have a glass of skim milk with a SF fudgesicle. The milk makes me feel nice and full and then I'm ready for beddy-bye!

Yeah, I know about fudgesicles, but I'm just so over them. I don't want anything cold. I want chocolate.

The other alternative I've found, but it takes more time than reaching for a chocolate bar, is hot chocolate made with steamed milk, dutch-process cocoa and splenda. Also a good curber of cravings...

... oh, and don't get me wrong, my house is a pig stye. That's why I have so many jobs to do.... lots to keep me busy for a very looooong time.

(If it makes you feel better, hubby and I had 1st aniversary on Monday. He had the day off.. and we stayed home... AND DID LAUNDRY... SEEEEEEEEEEXYYYYYY......
