People on here keep mentioning that their cravings have gone away after being on P1 for a certain amount of days (different for everyone). I'm on day 7 of P1 and I have a question. What cravings are we talking about? If it's just cravings for carbs, I'm doing ok. I haven't felt the need from day one to eat the bread, rice and potatoes that I gave up for veggies, lean meats and low fat cheeses. HOWEVER, I do want to overeat at times. Yesterday, I had a brocolli and cheese omelette (low fat cheese and eggbeaters) for breakfast, a 10.5 oz can of V8 and a mozzarella stick for mid morning snack, a salad with lettuce, spinach, brocolli, tomatoes, cukes, canned chicken and some olive oil for lunch, two slices of healthy choice deli turkey for mid afternoon snack. I had brought all of these items with me to work so when they were all eaten I had nothing else to eat. By the time I was on my mid afternoon snack, I felt that I could have chewed through the furniture. I was craving more cheese, nuts, meat, ANYTHING. My cravings were not about the carbs I cut out. I was hungry and I wanted to EAT!!
I came home and ate dinner (shrimp and veggies). I then went on an eat fest of mozzarella sticks (4) and pistachios (about 40) for the evening, plus I had my favorite sf jello with ff coolwhip. I felt like I was almost out of control.
Please tell me if the craving to overeat in general will go away, or if it is just the cravings for carbs (which I don't have) that everyone is talking about.

| And perhaps you should try to fight through the cravings to eat and not gorge yourself. In addition to eating bad foods, I'm sure overeating is a problem most of suffer from as well. I think we need to also recondition our bodies to eating less food. To that end, I think we have to learn to deal with some hunger pangs. |

Wow, that sounded a little righteous.
Here is a diet that touts that we will not be hungry and I got hungry - very very hungry. Go figure.
Anyway, it was not your usual "I'm a little hungry", I felt like I hadn't eaten in a week! I felt weak (physically).
I'm thinking it is the V8s. I know they are allowed on this diet but I was not drinking a 6oz V8 with my breakfast (as in the meal plan), I was drinking an 10.5 oz can as a snack by itself. I did this for the past three days and I have been hungry right after. I realized it this afternoon so I'm not going to do that anymore and see how that works out. |
