Hello everyone,
I am Cheryl. I am on my first day of the South Beach Diet as ordered by my doctor. I am so confused about what I can have to eat. I bought the book. Can I have mayonayze?

There's a good answer to that, and other newbie-type questions, in my link below. Welcome!

Thank you. I am happy to be here. I am in GA so it is after midnight here. My head is swimming with confusion about this new diet  . My doctor ordered me on it to avoid diebetes. I hope I can figure it out so I will get well. I am going to bed but will be back tomorrow night. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Cherylal

Hi.

I'll be changing to the SB lifestyle on Sunday 4/11. Yes, on Easter of all days. Thanks Kim for your website full of answers for newbies. It's helping me alot. I will be around for a long time here, with tons of questions for all of you, and hopefully with lots of help for any of you as I experience and learn.

Lisa

Hey Lisa. I am Cheryl. I am on my second day of SBD and don't know if I am doing it right. I would love to know what you are learning so I won't feel so confused. Please feel free to email me if you like. I live in Georgia and could use some help. Thanks. Cheryl

Hi, I brought my beginning posts out of the archives to show
everyone who I am. My name is Cheryl. I can absolutely tell
you that the South Beach Diet will improve your life and help
you shed those extra pounds. However, you must follow the
SB advice. I lost 40 pounds in 8 months. I was happy with
my SB results. Then, in January of 2005, marital problems
set in and I began to stress eat. I gained all the weight back
plus 25 more pounds.
Now I am ready to start over. Will you all be my support?
Hugs,
Cherylal~

Welcome back! Sorry to hear of the emotional turmoil that got you off track. Good luck with the restart! Check the updated foods list as there likely have been some changes since the first time around. How is your blood glucose level doing?

And yes you can have small amounts of regular (1 TBSP) and reduced fat (2 TBSP) mayo! ;)

Hey Friend,
I have missed you and Kimboroni. My life has been upside down.
Glad to be getting back on track. Where are the updated food lists?
I am going to the grocers tonight. Thanks redroxco. :D

Linked into Kim's FAQ pages of course! ;)

P1 Here: http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29305

P2 Adds Here: http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23029

And we're both still around here! Also, many people seem to report that second or more times around, that P1 doesn't seem to "work" as well in terms of initial weight loss results. So if that holds true for you as well, at least know that it seems to be a normal response.

No guarantees ya know. But you did it once. At least you have all that experience to bring to bear. Don't see why you can't do it again!

Redroxco....I have switched back to P1 because weekends are my downfall. Sometimes after a bad weekend it's hard to get back on track. I have noticed, however, that I can't loose any weight in P1 now, which undermines my determination as you can imagine. Should I go into P2? I don't have any cravings anymore, so that's a miracle. I'm just a stress eater. I will take your advice...P1 is depressing me since I can't loose weight this time around :(

Once your cravings are gone, move on.

Thanks snotzalot for your qick reply! I'm just scared to...if I can't lose in P1 I'm afraid I'll GAIN in P2.

Perhaps. You likely won't know unless you try however. At least you will be eating a more healthy and balanced diet though that you should be able to stay with over a longer period of time while you work on figuring out what does work for you. Ever discussed this with your doctor? Or consider a medical condition that makes it more difficult?
