Hey All
I have been on phase 2 for about 3 weeks now. I have been eating 1 carb a day and have been loosing about a pound or 2 a week. The slow intro of carbs went very well for me and im wondering if anyone has added more than 1 carb a day in. If so let me know how it worked and how often you added.
Good Luck to all
Thanks :D |

I eat up to 2 grains and up to 2 fruits every day and lose about a pound a week. I try not to weigh myself every week, though.
today I had high fiber cereal for breakfast
pita with lunch
apple for snack
pear for dessert
My apples and pears are always eaten with cheese or peanut butter. |

Hi
Thanks for replying. Im wondering why im having such a problem compared to both of your carb intakes. I am having one carb a day and maybe 1 fruit a day if that much. I find that i gain just from 1 carb a day. I lost fast at first but now I find the carb to be too much. Maybe im stalling a little bit. The weight eventually evens out by the end of the week but im not loosing, I am basically just maintaining. Any help would be appreciated.
Again Thanks for all the support |

Maybe you should try keeping track of your food. A lot of people use fitday.com. I know it's kind of a pain but it might help. I kept track of my food up til about two weeks ago. Maybe your taking in too many or too little calories. Here is a helpful website that helps you calculate how many calories you need to maintain your weight. You can then lower that amount by 500 daily (to lose 1 pound per week) or 750 daily to lose 1.5 pounds per week. (one pound equals 3500 calories)

Is it at all possible that your one carb is a bad carb in disguise? For instance, some people have asked why they weren't losing, and it turned out they were eating Honey Nut Cheerios. While whole grain, it does have a lot of sugar.
No low carb bread or high sugars. No Atkins cereals--they're just starch. Look for high fiber, since it has a lot of benefits.
I'm just suggesting a possibility, since I don't know what you're eating. |

| Im pretty much sticking to whole wheat bread, sweet potatos, brown rice etc. I have a whole wheat bagel once in a while but thats pretty much it. |

After 4 1/2 on phase 1, I only lost 12lbs. I have decided to start phase 2 today. This morning I had for breakfast: 1 cup of Uncle Sam cereal, 1 cup of fat free skim milk sprinkled with a packet of splenda and a cup of decaf coffee. Later on I am planning on having, baked salmon with lots of steamed vegetables. I am taking it "one carb at a time" and see where it will take me.
One question: Should I still snack on cheese strings, nuts and fat free jello now that I am on phase 2? |

milo, those are still good snacks, but it's a good idea to add in some fruit pretty soon. A Granny Smith apple with 1 tbsp peanut butter is a good place to start.
Lp, sweet potatoes have a semi-high GI, if I remember correctly, so your body may not be able to deal with them yet. They can be added in because of the vitamin content, but it might be a problem food for some as far as weight loss. Try cutting out those and the rice (which is still lowish in fiber even when brown) and having a high fiber cereal or tortilla instead. |

| Ok great thanks for the advice. What are most people adding in as they begin phase 2? I guess my rice and sweet potatos were a little too much for me to handle yet. |
