| After losing 23 pounds, it seems to be getting harder. I would welcome any suggestions based on experience. Thanks. |

I plateaued after 10 lbs. I started working out 1 extra day/week and that got me through it. I’ve now lost 24 lbs, and I’m just hanging here for awhile until after my honeymoon in a few weeks.
My “jumpstarting” techniques:
1-Re-read the book
2-Cheat less
3-Go back to ph 1 for 2-4 days just to clear some cravings if you’re having them,
or create your own phase “1.5”
4-Work out 1 extra day / week, or workout for 5-10 min more each day that you already work out.
5-Lifts weights
6-Count calories for 1 day to see if you are going overboard on high calorie foods.
7-Drink more water, less caffeine, or any combination of these two.
8-Stop eating out for awhile; pack your lunch for work.
9-Get out of any ruts! Shake things up by trying new recipes or new exercises. |

| Going back to phase 1 for 2 weeks seems to work for some people. Maybe you should give it a try |

OK, here's one that's a little crazy: give yourself a free day/weekend. Eat what you want. Have some fun. Let the body know it does not need to be in "starvation mode". Then get right back into it.
I did this and it worked well to revitalize my motivation and it actually seemed to trigger additional weight loss. |

| That's interesting Kenny. I never thought of it, but it does work. I went a little crazy over this past weekend and now I feel more motivated and lost 5 pounds. It's also nice to have an excuse to eat whatever you want. But you can't do it all the time. It's a one time thing |

Here's what I do...
Try adding a multivitamin, omega 3 to your diet, it did wonders for my plateau. :( Now I'm back on track and losing once again :D I also give myself a day off to cheat but within limits. Have fun with the diet. Don't think of it as a diet think of this as conditioning you to eat right for the rest of your life. :) |

| How badly do you cheat on your cheat day? |

| I agree with SSBuck. I went to fitday.com and keyed in everything I ate for a day. I discovered I was going way overboard on nuts! I decided to cut them out and started losing again. Even though nuts are a good fat they are still high in calories and they were hurting me! |

| Thanks to all of you for the good advice. I have been back on track, and breaking the diet routine seems to work to restart the system and continue losing pounds. |
