Well, I am going to say vanity as well! I am actually very healthy, just tired of feeling so darn puffy and yearning for the days when I could put on anything in my closet and feel great! I was also recently divorced and figure...I owe this to myself (inner voice: it will kill him the next time he sees me and I am lookin' better than I did when we first met). Haha. That is a joke, I don't really give a sh*t what he thinks. This is for me, and I can't wait to get there! When I succeed, it is an all-inclusive mexican vacation and new bikini for me!
Good luck everyone! Get healthy and stay strong! |

I spent years trying diet after diet. I went and worked out. I got where I wanted... then I retired and gained it all back. Over and over, my hubby and I were starting a diet...it wasn't until he was dx'd w/Type2diabetes that we went for SBD. I tossed all the junk and processed foods, we only stick to SBD foods... given how much we weighed at start, I don't find it odd we lost a lot and fast...he is down over 50 lbs and I am down over 40 in 4 months. (We don't cheat.. I did once or twice)
You can look ways you don't like and somehow rationalize it, but When your health is in jeapordy, you just do it (if you have a brain in your head).
Best side effects? Both of us have dropped our BP, or cholesterl, everything..significantly. MY MD, who hads bugged me to take statins for years, didn't even bring it up at my physical!
Go for the HEALTH!!! |

| Like many before me, I tried so many diets to lose weight to "look" good. I really didn't have a problem with weight until after the kids were born. Got married late, 31, had my 1st at 33, 2nd at 38. Although some of the weight came off, I didn't really bother to work at it. Had a weekend marriage w/hubby on the road a lot. So.... here I am 24 years later w/hbp, and trigs that are 270. Went to CRNP for renewal on bp rx & she told me I need to lose weight. I know that. Tell me what to eat. I tried WW & others, worked out faithfully for 3 solid months, ate healthy & lost 30 pounds but was still put on bp rx. So she says that she recommends the SBD for all of her patients and that they have had much success. So I said ok, I will try this & see what happens. Been on the beach since Feb 4, 2006. Went from 207 to 186 1/2 and still losing not only pounds but inches. Don't miss the carbs, enjoy what I am eating, feel great, and beginning to look better, & better. Sugar went from 103 to 93. Must be under 100 to be considered in the normal range. I will have some bloodwork done in a couple of weeks to see what the trigs are. I know that the bp went from 140/96 to like 115/77. (I am still on bp meds but am hoping to come off them.) I can't say enough about the beach & the forums. They are so inspirational to me. Thanks Dr. A & SB! blo |

| For me it is more about heath that vanity. I have trouble walking up stairs without huffing and puffing, I am getting back aches and just feel yucky. So this will be a lifestyle change. :D |

I just want to look good
of course I want to be healthy but my motivation is the way I look,
I think that is a ood thing because you dont want to look bad so you eat healthy to loose the weight and feel better then you want to start exercising to look better because of this you are healthy! |
