I know I've seen it someplace, months ago, on how to change a URL from the long address to a word or words. Please help this not-so-tech savy user how to do it!

Hmmm... Well what I think you mean is how to embed a URL link into a word of phrase and still have it be clickable to the embedded link. The syntax for this board goes like this:

1: Open URL Tag: "[url="
2. Enter destination URL immediately following the = sign.
3. Close first part of tag with a close bracket: "]"
4. Then type the text you want to appear and be in blue and clickable back to the embedded URL you typed above.
5. Close with final tage: "[/url]"

(all tags without quotes when typing)

I think if you "Quote" my reply you can see the syntax I used for the following example.

Colgate Men's Lacrosse Website

That should do it!
