If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, when you get to a page that you want to save, you can click on the Favorites menu item and select Add to Favorites. If you click on Favorites/Organize Favorites, you can create a SBD forum folder and keep all your forum favorites in that folder. But there is nothing from the forum tool set that will allow you to save favorite places within the forum itself.
When you are posting a message, you have a variety of formatting options. A number of them like Bolding, Italics, underlining, etc. are governed by the use of textual "tags" to designate what text has what formatting condition applied to it. There are a couple ways to do this. If you type an entire word first, like bold. And then highlight the word bold and press the B button it will put both the open bolding tag and the closing bolding tag around all the text you have highlighted (bold) and when you preview or submit your message you will see the text within the tags with the format you have chosen. The other way to apply tags is if you know you want to start bold formatting at a certain point, press the B button which will put only the open bolding tag in place. Then type all the text you want bolded first and then when you are finished typing what you want bolded, click on the Close Tags text to put in the close bold tag.
The third way to use tags once you have gotten used to the format is to simply type them in yourself as you go along remembering to type in the closing tag where appropriate yourself. If you type in the opening tag yourself from the keyboard, you cannot use the Close Tags text link to close the formatting automatically. It only works when you use one of the buttons to start the formatting. You can even change the color and size of the text if you like!!
If you want to see all the tags I used in my response, simply click the "quote" button at the top and it will put all my text into your reply box and then you can see the tags themselves instead of just viewing the effect they have within a post.
FWIW, this board uses "BBCode" tags which are similar in some wayt to HTML tags but are sufficiently different that they cannot be used interchangeably.
Hope that helps! |
