Papa - you are the coolest, thanks for your informative post.

I expiramented and did three days of cardio, three days of weights interchanged and had the seventh day of rest for a solid three weeks. My own reflections on how it went can be seen in my journal; I just wanted to stop in and thank everyone for giving thier opinions to this subject.

I'm still at the same weight I was three weeks ago, so I've bumped up my cardio to an hour each time. A solid week of that has shown no loss, so I'm giving it another week at least and will see what the scale and tape measure says then.

Thanks again, everyone!

You're doing amazingly, LawnGnome!

Don't get down about a stall-- you've lost so much, so your body probably needs some rest from the weight loss thing. The best thing for now is to make maintaining your goal for a while. You'll need to know how to do that anyway, so get in some practice now.

You've had about a 25% reduction in body size, which is quite a shock to the system. Don't burn yourself out trying to do something which your body very likely isn't ready to do for the time being.

Thanks, Kim, for the advice. I guess I never thought as the weight loss as a "shock" to my body, since it took over a year to drop 60lbs.

Do you mean I should not be bumping up the cardio, that I should just do my normal thing (the usual 30 minutes)?

I don't know about *shouldn't*-- you could try it. I know that when I bumped up my cardio hoping to jumpstart more losses, I actually ended up stalling until I started eating more to support the extra exercise. It's kind of a funny situation-- the body is a complex thing.

You probably don't need the "I almost died" workouts, because overly taxing yourself is counterproductive. Unless that's just a lot of exaggeration! You don't want to be so tired-- a good gauge of your workout is that you could carry on a conversation... not easily, but not gasping for breath either.

Kim - I checked out online how many calories I should be eating, and for "extreme fat loss," it should be around 1800. I bet I'm eating more than that, but I'd have to add them up to see.
The "almost died" workouts are really me exaggerating - lol!!! I say that if I have sweat rolling down my neck and getting in my eyes, and if it was a real challenge. I figure it's not a good workout unless I'm glowing afterwards at least. I know to pay more attention to my breathing, since different people sweat differently - so I do look at that too. Thanks again!
