I feel dumb asking this but i really have no idea what that is let alone what my timezone is in relativity. ?? So, those of you who can answer this please tell me how it compares to an American city ... I live in Montana which is Mountain time, but any American city would do ... Seattle? Boston? NY?
THank you ... |

Greenwich Mean Time. It's where time is considered to "start" and where longitude begins through the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, England.
The mountain time zone is currently 7 hours behind GMT, or GMT -7:00 hours. You can usually find this by clicking on the time in the lower left corner of your PC and bringing up the windows Date and Time Properties window and clicking on the tab for Time Zone. If your PC clock is set correctly it should show it in the drop down where you select your time zone. It is part of the description and definition of where time zones are calculated from. Interesting story of how and why it was created if you want to search on the "longitude problem" and "greenwich mean time" would probably turn up something on it. |
