Every day I wake up grateful to be Canadian, and every night I go to bed glad I still am. Of course it is tough to be on SB in Canada in the winter! haha!

Any other Canadians out there who would love to love Canada in our very own thread? And how about the Election coming up...what a pain in the butt! I would love to know how many people are going to vote. You don't have to say who you are going to vote for though. We don't need a fight!

I would vote if I were there (been in the US since last month), but we can't vote by absentee ballot and I'm not comfortable having someone else vote for me in proxy. Oh well...

Scott - are you absolutely sure about that? I seem to remember there was a lot of discussion around the recent Provincial election (BC) and counting the absentee ballots. I can't believe it would be any different just because it is a Federal election. See what info you can find online about voting out of the country. If I am wrong about this issue, I stand corrected, but believe snowbirds vote.

I just checked Elections Canada, and you're right, Colliegirl. Thanks for the heads up!!! I downloaded the form I need to send in. It's the Ontario provincial elections that don't have absentee voting, just advance polling and proxy.

My husband is going to have to vote by absentee ballot too, he is in the navy and is going to be sailing during the election. It will be the first election he has missed since joining the forces!
