So happy I'm exercising...!!!

It's been a long slow journey... I've never been much for exercise.

I think when I was 26 I started running for a bit. Then I stopped, cause I have a bad knee (torn meniscus).

Then, 2 years ago, here in Mexico, I started doing capoiera. I loved it, and I loved the workout... but I stopped because of personal situation, and shortly after that, I had back surgery.

I'm 31 now, one year post-op and doing fine, and I started SB Oct. 10. The first few weeks, I had this nagging voice in my head: You need to work out! You need to work out! Eating right is NOT enough!

So, starting P2, I joined a gym.

I'm in my 4th week of spinning classes, and I'm LOVING IT!!! I am actually taking 5 classes this week, because everyday I don't have class, I miss it and want to go... !

I'm also going to start strength training/resistance routine next week... I've read up on how important replacing muscle mass is during weight loss, and how it affects your metabolism, and I want that!

I love the way I feel! I usually work out at night, but I feel alot more energy in the daytime and I'm definitely seeing differences in my body.

I haven't lost much since P1, but it seems I'm losing inches every week. And, I feel stronger, more capable, ... I feel straighter or more taller... hahaha... I feel damned good!!

It actually makes me laugh - everything everyone said about the benefits of exercise IS TRUE!! I shoulda payed attention a long time ago;)

Anyone else having a similiar experience?

OOOHH! I LOVE exercising; always have! I'd be a lost, unhappy gal without it! :D
I am glad that you are enjoying Spinning so much...I recently became an instructor, and I love it. It is not only a butt-kicking workout, but it is so much fun! :o Good luck with it...and it is great that you are such a convert to the ways of the gym

Ms. Lucy

Congrats on making great progress and getting into a routine.

I couldn't run to save my life 6 months ago and now I have a marathon planned this spring and ironman in 07.

This stuff is addictive!

If you love spinning, you should look into getting a road bike. I got my first this summer and enjoy the break of getting outside--some places are beautiful!!

However, it just dropped to 30 degrees here, so I'll be heading back to my spinning class and/or using my trainer!

Congrats again!

Hi Victorita!

Glad to see you still around! I love to exercise and it is addictive, especially when the pounds keep coming off. I'm 1 pound over half way to my goal. Not bad for 6 weeks. I'm hoping to be at goal weight by Christmas.

I have to say though... I have been working my butt off! I run 4 - 5 miles almost every day. Minus one day - usually Sunday, but a weeknight if I have something to do and don't have time to exercise. But I find that I miss the workout so much that I power walk 3 - 3.5 miles that morning. No running, but crosswalking on my treadmill with an incline.

Sometimes I feel like I don't want to do it, but that quickly changes once I start because I love running.

I also play soccer. Used to be both outdoor and indoor, but I broke my arm in outdoor, so I missed the rest of the season. Now it's too cold here to be outside. I am playing indoor once a week now. I wish it was more because I love to play. It's really good exercise too.

I bought resistance bands to do at home and have yet to really use them. I used them on my legs once, but I need to get it incorporated into my exercise every week.

So I run 4 - 5 miles 4 days a week, soccer for an hour once a week and power crosswalk once a week.

I'm so glad that you like your spinning class! I tried it and liked it, but I couldn't stand the instructor. I know that's bad, but she did the opposite of motivating people!

Keep up the most excellent work!

How's the weightloss coming. Are you down more than 9 pounds now?

Yeah, I'm half-afraid my enthusiasm will fade... but for now I'm really enjoying it..

Grrr... the weight loss is kinda slow. Just over the past few days, the scale has been slipping under 190, to 189... so I'm feeling hopeful:)

But I've gone down three inches in the top part of my abdomen... that seems to be where the major changes are occuring... Other people definitely notice a difference.

I think I may be eating too many grains, but I see that lots of people stall in Phase 2, so I figure, I'll just keep exercising and eating healthy.

Sooner or later, somethings bound to happen, right? :D

Love it !!

I was very active & athletic when younger, and it took awhile after having my son to get back on track, so to speak. I started with a bellydancing class, and then a month ago, joined a gym. A really nice, girls only gym that includes classes, a sauna and has baby sitting--which means I can actually take a shower that is longer than 2 minutes without being interrupted. :D

I was talking with another woman who recently joined the other day, and we both agreed "what took us so long to join ? this is great!".
