Thanks Pete! As a moderator I would just like to add that I will not allow ticker images to be linked into your avatar. I will remove them and put in the correct codes to make them work in your signature. However, I have noticed that sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't. I think it has to do with those who stay permanently logged in within their cookies (doesn't take the changes from the moderator's control panel), but I don't know for sure. So I'm sorry if you set one up in your avatar and it gets removed, but it doesn't belong there as it pushes all of the text in any thread you participate in off to the right and it's unfair to the rest of the community to inflict this on them. Plus it just doesn't belong there! It belongs in your signature!
If you have had your ticker in your avatar and it has disappeared, try logging out, logging back in and then going into your profile, checking that the code is now in your signature and re-clicking Submit. Can't guarantee that will work, but it is the best I can come up with at this point. |

If you are seeing text in your ticker/signature area, here are the common causes.
1. You are using the wrong type of code/syntax. It should be the syntax designed for phpBB bulletin board forums. It should begin with the character string "[url=http:...." and should end with the character string "[/url]". There should be no commands like "image noborder" or "href" and no angle brackets like < or >. Those commands are meaningless here and therefore just appear as text.
2. Tickerfactory code seems to like to put in spaces or carriage returns at the end of some of the lines you copy into your signature. These have to be removed in order to create a continuous character string from start to finish. There are a couple ways of accomplishing this.
--2A. Copy the entire character string out to a text or word processor that is wide enough to see all of the characters on a single line. If it goes over to multiple lines, use the delete or backspace keys to bring all of the text into a single line. You may need to adjust the font to a smaller size to accompllish this as well.
--2B. Working within your signature block itself, go to the end of each line that is not a full line across the text block. Look at the first character of the next line. (usually the "h" in http) and press the delete key until the first character of the next line disappears. Then type it back in. NOTE that you must realize what character you are deleting in order to put it back in correctly. Usually pressing the delete key from the end of a line once deletes the "embedded" space or carriage return and pressing the delete key a second time deletes the first character from the next line, so don't just keep pounding on the delete key without watching what is happening!
Hope that helps! |

Ok I disabled BBCode in this post... If you use Ticker factory I can tell you how to decode the information in the code.
Now in this part of the TickerFactory line /c/175/t/150/s/200/
175 = current weight
150 is the target weight
200 is the starting weight.
So the number you want to change to show progress is the 175
I hope this helps :) |

the text stuff before and after is showing up because there are spaces at the ends of some of the lines that you can't really see. try copying and pasting the code below and fully replacing your existing code in your signature and it should get rid of that text and embed the link to your edit page in your image.
[url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wRUaXfc/][img]http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wRUaXfc/weight.png[/img][/url]
it's the same code in your signature now, just without the spaces. |
