| anyone checked out Oprah's boot camp plan? It is similar to SB in that nothing white (flour/sugar/potatoes) but instead of two weeks she doesn't introduce whole grains until after the first month, also from the beginning she has 2 fruit servings a day. Just wondering others opinion of this. Thanks! |

| Actually, this is how I started SB. I started in the early summer and did not want to miss out on all the fresh fruits, so I started P2 with two fruits per day (low GI) and held off adding grains. Grains are my weakness and problem food. |

I've been away from SB for a long time and it shows ... back to the weight I started at the last time (161). I hadn't heard of Oprah's plan but I think I'll give it a try.
Here's why Oprah rather than SB: the fruit! I started getting a vegetable-fruit co-op order about this time last year, and it is awesome. I get two bags of mixed fruit & veggies every two weeks. I also get an optional extra fruit order, about half a bag.
It's almost all organic, locally grown (in new jersey) - though some of it comes from far away such as oranges & bananas & strawberries out of season. This is the most luscious, healthy stuff - makes you really WANT to eat all that veg, which is why I signed up.
I got the fruit order because my kid eats so much fruit, and we were running out before our two weeks were up. But now we have a LOT of fruit.
I never really missed grain very much, but the fruit part killed me on the several times I tried SB.
I don't like the format of the groups for Oprah's plan though!!! This format is MUCH better - those make it so hard to find the actual discussion. I think I'll hang around here and just not mention that I'm eating fruit for "P1" (in quotes because it isn't P1 really .... ) |

| I know what you mean about fruit! I wish I had more variety as well. Oprah seems to be on a roll with her plan. Good luck to you, keep us posted :) |
