I am a 5'11" female who weighs 150 lbs. I would like to simply loose the tummy I have gained in the last 2 years. I would be happy with 10lbs! I am on week three and very discouraged that I have only lost 3 lbs so far! I guess that since I don't have much to loose it is going slowly? I am just frustrated because I am working so hard and not much is changing. Suggestions or Help?

LJ, 150 lbs for your height is average, you're far from overweight.

I'm 5ft 5inches and weigh 160, now THAT's overweight...(I've been on the south beach diet a week now and have lost 8 lbs)

Seeing that you're already thin, your weight loss will be slower.

You are at a good weight. The flab on your belly might be due to lack of muscle tone. Unless we exercise a lot, muscle turns to fat as we get older, and our bodies start to sag. Start doing some strength training and/or Pilates type exercises, and you can turn fat into muscle. You will end up looking much better even if you don't lose a single pound!

If you have been eating a high-starch diet before SBD, then some of the belly could be due to developing insulin resistance. Just keep eating the SB way and that will indeed diminish considerably. But it might take a while - and it won't necessarily correspond to a change on the scale - but rather a change in body shape.
