| Is is possible to have all the pages listed (or a blank box where we could type in the page number) - where it says Go To Page... ? If there are 64 pages and I want to go to page 25 I have to do a lot of clicking and waiting to get there |

It's an interesting idea, but really, the format and features of the board software are out of our hands. I'm sure even the board's admin, sbdiet, is pretty much at the mercy of whatever the PHPBB software has in the way of features, and even then I'm not sure he/she is all that interested in lobbying or adapting new features if they were available. But posting the request is still a good thing in case he/she reads this forum when he/she visits.
So then we are reduced to workarounds in the interim, and then assume "interim" is likely a long time! ;)
If you have a calculator, or are MathChick and can work easily in multiples of 15 in your head, you can edit the URL to get you to the right page fairly quickly. Using your example, if you wanted to get to page 25, calculate 1 page less than that, 24 and multiply it by 15, to get 360. Then click into the thread to put the URL into your "Address" field on your browser, and after the thread number (currently 5 digits) put in "&360" (without the quotes), replacing whatever other text might have been after the thread number and click "Go" or hit enter and it should get you to the top of page 25. Not great, but probably quicker than doing all the clicking you would need to do otherwise. HTH!! |

BTW, I did some testing to see how it worked and while it seemed logical to me to add 1 to the number which is a multiple of 15 to get to the top of the next page (15 posts to a page is the default), it brought up that page with the 2nd to the top post as the top post when I added the 1, if that makes any sense to you. So I'm not sure exactly why this works correctly, but it does seem to! |

OK. Revised instructions!! ;) Just edit out the 15 at the end of the URL and replace it using the same calculations as before. So using the same page 25 as the example, n = (25-1) * 15 which equals 360. So replace the "15" with "360" at the end, and it seems to work.
