Do you have any brand of Vacuum Food Sealer?
Can you post Likes / Dis-likes.
Im looking to buy one and can't find a review that compares them to each other.
Thanks

Mine is a Black & Decker. I got it from my sister for Christmas last year.
My sister has a FoodSaver. I got it for her for Christmas last year.
We both love ours. My sister's came with all the perks included. Mine had just the vacuum sealer and the canisters, etc., were additional. |

I'm not sure what kind mine is, I think it is the basic FoodSaver. I got it from my MIL for Xmas last year. I like it because it is pretty easy to use and does help with freezer burn in the freezer. Things I DISlike about it are that I have to make sure meat is pretty dry or it won't seal properly and sometimes it has a very small leak and I don't realize it until I take it out of the freezer and I can see there was all sorts of air in there before it froze.
All in all I like it and it has been great for storing meat. |

| Go with the FoodSaver - I've had both foodsaver and black and decker, and the B&D drives me nutty - the first one (my parents') never completely sealed, they had it replaced by B&D a number of times, until it just died and B&D couldn't figure out why. They had, in the mean time, bought me one and I spent 4 hours cursing the thing before giving up and sending it back to my parents. If only for ease of use, go with the FoodSaver - you plug it in, toss in the bag edge, push a button. You can get premade bags or long rolls of sheeting to make your own bags (I like the premade ones - there really wasn't anything that couldn't fit into them, and once you've removed part of the stuff inside, you can trim the bag and reseal OR toss the bag in the dishwasher. Loved that feature!) |

Thanks for your input.
My local Military Exchange (Military type store for those who don't know) has them in stock. I'll shop around and see if I can find it cheaper 1st.
Thanks again....

Well I did it I just ordered the FoodSaver Professional III Vacuum Sealing Kit.
Yeah I know it probably has features I might not use... I think I got a good deal at 199.99 including S/H from a national chain store.
Thanks for your input!!! |

Wow, that's alot! I got mine from my brother last christmas. I mine at least once a week. You have to be careful with juicy foods like chicken, seafoods, and hamburger because if any juices get vacuumed to the seal it doesn't completely seal properly. I think this is the one my brother got me.

Yeah as far as $$ it's a lot but for the product its not a bad price for a product that has a List Price is $ 319.99
Kohls doesn't carry the model I'm getting.
Doing a Froogle search all the sites that advertising it for less than I paid but were out or on back order.
Link to the Jarden Corporation site current owners of FoodSaver.
