Great topic!

Now, here's my addition:

I don't miss feeling guilty at the supermarket cash desk because of buying all that stuff I knew was bad for me (coke, chips).

I don't miss not being able to find decent pants in normal sizes (it's still difficult because of my thighs and hips).

I don't miss stuffing my face with potato chips and then remembering how many calories I just consumed.

I don't miss not being able to see my waist.

I don't miss bread (really), potatoes, rice and pasta. Funny how the old conditioning "you must have rice/pasta/potatoes" got reversed.

I don't miss counting fat grams (remember those low fat diets??).

And most of all: I don't miss hating my scale! We're pals now :D

Stinky doughnuts, yucky french fries and pizza. Wow, you guys are GOOD! I haven't, and don't think I ever will, reached that point. And I'm not quite sure that I want to. I do indulge in these things every now and then and everytime I eat them they are even more delicious! I guess eating healthy and not having those things 90% of the time has something to do with that.

Ive been on the diet for 3 weeks...
I don't miss Pepsi....(used to drink 3-4 cans a day.)
I don't miss pizza....(used to eat it 2-3 times a week.)
I don't miss potato chips.
I don't miss the backache I'd get when I'd stand up after sitting for a while.
I don't miss people asking me when my baby is due when I've never been pregnant (actually happened twice!)

I've lost 13 lbs in 3 weeks, and have about 10 more to go, and I feel great!

Great thread!

I probably don't qualify here either as I'm just finishing Phase 1, but I don't miss:

- Being totally obsessed with my next meal

- The nasty little voice inside me constantly trying to justify why I should put half a pound of butter on the Sara Lee pecan danish or deserved a package of bagles

- The mood swings that made me spend half my day with my head stuck in the fridge

AND lots of the things the others have said above.

I don't miss...

HUGE bowls of ice cream
Ordering pizza and eating half of it or more
Spending money on fast food or delievry
Eating half a big bag of chips
The hungry feeling, the cravings
The GUILT!!

Now the only guilt I have is that I am trying to make myself start walking and I keep saying...I'll start this morning, no I'll start tonight, no I'll start tomorrow...UGH!

I don't miss...

- my almost-daily headaches

- being exhausted by three in the afternoon

- my stomachaches, back aches, and sniffles - I thought I had allergies!

- feeling hungry and snacking all day long at work

- heavy meals that made me feel sick

- the guilt that comes from eating unhealthy food

I don't miss feeling like I am worthless just because I don't look like the women in the magazines. Although I still don't I am happier with how I feel and eating better gives me confidence in my apperance and social role. I surely don't miss coming home and sitting on the couch with my junkfood friends chips and soda. Nothing tastes like it use to and I love it! Thanks South Beach for setting me free from myself!

I don't miss prowling around my kitchen every night looking for something to cram into my mouth. Or the once a week "binge" days that evolved into the 4 times a week binge days. Been on SBD for a month and a half and have lost all those desperate cravings. :D

I don't miss my gurggling stomach after meals. :(
I don't miss falling asleep at my desk at 2 in the afternoon.
I don't miss cookies. 8)
I don't miss that totally stuffed feeling after a meal even though I've eaten plenty. :P

I love knowing that I am eating healthy.
I love knowing that I am doing the best for myself nutritionally.
I love knowing that I am taking control of my eating.

:D

I don't miss frequent stomach problems and feeling queasy after heavy meals.
I don't miss my double chin.
I don't miss being out of breath after going up a couple flights of stairs.
I won't miss all my clothes that are now too big for me (the ones that are folded and piled all over my bedroom floor).
I won't miss going to plus-sized stores to go shopping.
I won't miss looking at photos of myself and wondering how the camera managed to add an extra 20 pounds and make me look so awful!

Feeling bad about myself all the time...
Feeling lethargic and sleepy...
French fries...
Potatoes (although they are one of my favorite foods in the world)...
Pasta...
Regular Soda...
Sugar...
Foods that are horrible for me but I ate anyway...
Feeling guilty about the food choices I was making...

Having family members pinch my stomach and go "What is this?"

I dont miss:

Feeling bloated
Feeling lethargic (I cant believe the energy I have despite my indulgences)
Feeling gassy (weird that I eat more veggies now and feel less gassy)
Feeling guilty about dessert- while I do miss ice cream, I do like being able to have fudgecicles and the ricotta jello cheesecake
That greasy feeling in the pit of my stomach after fried food
My jiggly butt and arms!

I do miss some food though- not a physical craving but the way it tastes, like pizza, ice cream, chocolate. Sometimes substitutions just arent the same! I am back on P1 now, maybe a little more educated after having indulged too many times, but rather than feeling guilt about cheating, I am just going to try to plan for certain indulgences better.

I don't miss waking up and feeling like I could sleep another 7 hours
I don't miss the headaches from my unhealthy eating habits
I don't miss the stuffed feeling I felt in my clothes
I don't miss the lack of energy

Thank you SBD!!!! :D
