So, Technoboggan and I were on the big island of Hawaii in the spring of 05, enjoying two weeks in Hilo and Kona.

It was an incredible trip and we so enjoyed ourselves. When I got back and ran through the photos... well, it was apparent I was not 18 anymore... not even 30! ;)

So what does a 285 lb Viking in a kilt hiking through the Kilauea caldera look like ?

or...

By the next trip that kilt is gonna be a lot looser!!! ~Oak

He looks like a hunk and a half... sigh... and to think, we're neighbors. And... I just noticed, you and my DH have the same goatee. Huzzah! Huzzah!

<handing LB a tissue when she realizes she lives far, far away from the Viking>

Oh... were we supposed to look at the volcano, too? LB, did you see a volcano in that picture?

P.S. Can't resist a man in a kilt!

Hi Oak - Thanks for this grand photo -- a natural landscape adequate as a backdrop to your great photo.

In case, you've missed it, I thought you might be interested in reading my journal -- the last entries have been devoted to men in kilts, gender conformity, etc.

For some reason, seeing the word "kilt" brought back a rather awful image of a man I saw last year when I visited Scotland... he was in a MINI kilt (actually, it was boardering on being a micro-mini-kilt). A very disturbing image indeed! It was just soooo WRONG! *shudders* If you're interested in going to Scotland to try to spot the mini-kilter, he was in Ullapool, a small coastal village. It was about this time of year... if you hurry, you might catch a glimpse of him too!

Okay, now I'm back on topic... lookin' pretty good to me, oak. I think you have a female fan club that is eagerly awaiting your "after" photos! LyndaB, were there volcanos in that photo? I didn't see them!

Oak, I don't know if you realize how many ladies' days you made with your viking in kilt poses. Your flowing hair is just gorgeous, and the total effect very manly!

Good luck on the beach!

It may be somewhere posted but can you enlighten me on wearing a Kilt? Like the significance of it in your culture?

That's just wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Kilts should touch the ground when a man's kneeling.

And the combination of a kilt and a man on his knees? Well, that's just enough to make me drool. :)

Ooooh... I had never even thought of that image. Hmmm... very nice!

Technoboggan, did we scare oak off? I noticed that he hasn't come back to comment here!

No, no... He's just a very busy man. He works 40+ hours a week, is teaching himself programming to deal with some challenges at work, takes care of all the "outside" chores (this morning was spent mowing almost an acre of lawn), helps me out around the house so I have time to write on my novel, and is also working on his exercise levels (so yesterday he went on a 2 hour+ bike ride, etc). He's just very busy. :)
