Good job so far!! Great looking family as well! BTW, if you change the "url" to "img" in both of the tags and get rid of the spaces both after the first close bracket (]) and before the last open bracket ([), I think that should just embed the images directly into your post.

I tried it the img way. Not sure if it's a problem using flickr or not. I'll have to try a couple of ways. Loaded one pic into photobucket.com, will have to look at sizing and then thransfer others over.

Yeah, I think some sites have a way of blocking external linking for embedding photos, so maybe Flickr does that. Was worth a shot though. If you are just posting the URL's, you don't even really have to put the URL tags around them unless they wrap to multiple lines and even then I think they work OK as is.

She's been all of those to date

Currently married for 20+ years but she has never aged past 29...at least that is what I am told.

Checked out your blog page, nice photo. You say you look Polish...my wife is polish. Her father was the one that made all the jokes about
(God rest his soul)

As for a catch...yes I was lucky. We had dated, never got real serious, later she got engaged and I thought OK it's safe to chat her up. We had worked at same place, after I left that work for school I would go back and visit my old work. SOmehow we got more attracted...she broke off her engagement...so not sure if I caught her or I got snagged. Either way, 20+ years and a daughter later we are doing good.

From your photo and your blog, it doesn't look/sound like you need SB to lose weight. Is it because of diet restrictions?

I am comfortably in phase III, maintaining my weight. I am currently underweight due to the celiac, but before I was hit hardcore with it, I had reached my goal. I use a balance of the way I learned to eat on South Beach, my dietic restrictions and common sense to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I also stick around the message boards to help others, and I am currently about to start a second degree to become a registered dietician, so it is really interesting for me. I also still have questions, here and there. I like the community.

Good for you on hitting your stride in P3. Since you are going for your registered dieticain, does SB meet all the requirements of a healthy diet. Are there any supplements that should be taken to make up for not taking in things like whole milk and some of the grains?

What a gorgeous family... and hey, you're not too shabby either.

Good luck to you. I know you'll do wonderfully. And I love the frog pic... I'm a real nature buff but moose are my specialty! :D

Been to Colorado and was fortunate to see a couple Moose (meese???) and they are much larger then I thought they would be.

Will have to look for some of my Skyline Drive pics of deer. I have a couple pics where my DW and DD are within 4-5 feet of the deer. We are going back there for a week beginning of Oct. It's a nice place for long hikes and communing with nature.

Jeff,
Well, I am just in the beginning stages, but supplement-wise I strongly believe that if you are eating a well rounded diet and are healthy (disease/illness free) otherwise, you are fine. I think South Beach can be very healthy, and also very unhealthy. I feel like a lot of people take advantage of the options of the South Beach that are leaning towards unhealthy.

Many, many people overuse processed meats, are still going out for fast food (I mean, come on... Look at the ingredient lists in a chicken breast at Wendy's... It's enough to make one sick), enjoy artificial sweeteners far too often, and don't focus on whole foods.

I advocate eating whole foods atleast 90% of your diet. I really don't think there is a place for processed, pre-packed anything, in anyone's diet. If you're on the run - plan ahead. That's what I did. I am healthy and successful. I exercised daily, pooed daily, smiled daily, and lost weekly. I treated myself when I wanted to. I seldom ate the Jell-o and fudge stuff. I watched my own body to reactions to nuts and peanut butter. I made three meals a day (and small snacks) and was always satisfied. I learned calories for foods, and kept them all in mind. I never once bought any sort of low-carb this, south beach brand that. I watched my oils, but low-fat if I thought it was a better choice than full fat for calories and saturated fat, and enjoyed foods I loved even if they are ranked as foods to not enjoy as often, because they are still healthy and I watched my caloric intake, too.

I feel as though I am a successful story on the beach, and I did it in a healthy manner, adapted to MY life, with my goals in mind.

Wow, some good points and things I have found myself moving away from. In P1 I was always packing my lunch when I had to leave house for work, now I find myself saying that picking up some sort of fast food is ok. I do buy some of the labeled carb smart stuff though. I will have to look at what other options there are next time I go shopping. Just found that one of the WHole Foods markets is right around the corner from one of my client's sites.

Thanks for sharing, made me look at where I am starting to cut corners.
