Are we having problems with the Forums today?
I can't get pages to build/change. I rebooted and it is still happening.
plus I notice no one is in the forums when I do get back on. like they all left too.
Just wondered :D |

another question....
i noticed that saturday i couldn't get on at all until late saturday night.. computer said that it timed out trying to here. i talked to a tech support friend of mine and he said that the main computer was probably down to try again later. were you all fixin the bored then? |

| Wasn't aware of either of these issues, but wasn't on a lot over the weekend. But when I was, it seemed to be working OK. And just for an FYI, the mods here have nothing to do with the servers or their maintenance. They do seem to take them down somewhat regularly for maintenance or whatever, but there are never any warnings issued or knowledge of when they will occur. They tend to "just happen" and we deal with them when they do! |

Hey, you have pull now... couldn't you get them to call each of us at our home phone numbers before this happens? Would anyone prefer to be called on their cell or notified via fax? :?

Well it's more like Pookie, Babs and Red! ;) Your friendly, neighborhood, web slinging board moderators, aka "mods". And the answer was I really don't know. I didn't notice anything, but I tend not to be on as much during the weekends. The servers do seem to "go down" on occasion, but we have no idea whether it is by design or not as we aren't in the loop. I don't really even know if sbdiet (the board "owner" and system administrator) gets any info on these sorts of things, but he/she is pretty mysterious and not really involved much unless asked or prompted. So in that regard, we're no different than anyone else on the board. We have no "pull" and we pretty much operate on our own until we run into people like he-who-does-not-deserve-to-be-named and we need sbdiet's help to resolve. Does that help?
