I get these constantly, I can look at maybe 4-5 posts, then come the SQL errors and I have to leave the website, come back maybe an hour later, surf for 10 minutes, then start all over again with them....
Am I the only one with this problem??? |

I was getting search errors yesterday, but got the too many connections errors a few times today. I've gotten those before as well.
Ha, just looked in the Topic Review pane while typing this, and here's what I got:

I just want to let you know I PM'ed the site admin on this issue to confirm my own ideas. Basically what I found out is that this condition tends to occur during peak usage. Too many people trying to access the database at the same time. The admin has tweaked some of the settings to allow more connections during peak times, but the downside of it is that with more people able to connect, it will likely also slow down the responsiveness of the site during peak periods.
I tend to notice this condition the most in the late afternoon mountain time which would be early evening eastern time. If you seem to get this type of error a lot and you tend to frequent the forum at a similar time most days, this is most likely what is happening. If you can change your access times to different times of the day, you may notice that it doesn't occur as often.
Repost something here if you continue to have problems with it. The admin can keep tweaking the settings to try and find the optimum balance point. I really think it is just part of it being a very popular and well used forum though! |
