Today is Day 12-----
The ride on P1 has been unbelievable!!
Stepped on the scale this a.m. and was down 16 lbs. (one bowling ball) in the first 11 days.
Had thought about doing P1 for longer than 2 weeks, but I do not think that there is any need.
2 more days and on to P2!! I also plan to add in more exercise to P2. I have limited the exercise on P1 for fear of becoming too fatigued.
This board has taught me alot and I find that the support folks provide for each other to be tremendous!
If the loss rate continues to be higher than expected, I can revise the timeline on my weight goals!!

Redrocket,
That's great! Are you posting what you are eating anywhere? You're losing so fast! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've been on SB for 4 weeks and have lost 14lbs. I started at 248, so I thought it would come off faster. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Michele,
I have had a pretty basic & consistent diet....and NO CHEATING!
Breakfast -- 2 scrambled eggs (no salt but alot of pepper) cooked with chopped mushrooms and 5 or 6 slices of Canadian bacon
Snack -- 2 Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese Sticks (String Cheese)
Lunch -- Small Chicken Breast; Cottage Cheese
Snack -- 5 or 6 Cherry Tomatoes and a can of Tuna Fish
Dinner -- Medium portion of Grilled Steak or Chicken Breast or Lean Ground Sirloin Burger or Pork Tenderloin, served with Mushrooms sauteed in Worcestershire Sauce; Fresh Cooked Green Beans (boiled in Chicken Broth) or Asparagus or sauteed Zuchini (cooked in Chicken Broth and served with Parmasean cheese)
Snack -- SF Jello
And ALOT of Water.....probably close to a gallon a day. As a matter-of-fact, the ONLY liquid to pass through my lips the last 2 weeks has been water!!
It has worked for me.
Today was my last day on P1.
Looking forward to a Grapefruit tomorrow morning!
Will post tomorrow and give final wieght loss for P1!

Thanks for the reply! I'm also drinking a lot of water. I am not exercising though. I know I need to. I have been making new recipes every night (most off this board) and they have been really good. Maybe my portion sizes have been too much. I've made the chicken parmesan, the meatza, the mixed up casserole, the chicken enchilada casserole, and fish a couple of time sauted in olive oil with parmesan cheese coating. Maybe I'm eating too much cheese. It's all the low fat kind. I have also been having one serving of the roasted chickpeas per day. I don't always eat the nuts, but a couple of times and made the dessert with the fudgecicle, peanut butter, and whipped topping. I'm heading out of town with family today so we'll be eating out at every meal. Hopefully I'll do ok!
Thanks again!

:D
It's so nice to see that I am not the only crazy one dying to add in a grapefruit again...It's one of the first Phase2s I am really looking forward to right now...
I just had my first weigh in (phase one day 5 morning) and I am down 8lbs...I have to say that I have as well only had water as a beverage and I have not cheated at all either...
I hope to keep up the momentum all weekend and full speed again next week as well...think I might stick phase 1 out for 3 weeks...
again congrats... |

| I suppose you could eat the same thing every day, but why would you want to? This diet is so full of variety! Try lots of different foods, try lots of new recipes. If you eat the same thing every day you might get bored and chuck it! |

| your right about chucking the diet; after repetition of food...when i was in the desert i tried out the south beach diet...it works but with an exercise program you'll start to see the hard body that you are working towards!!!!!!!!! The South beach diet rocks!! |

| first off congrats on your phase 1 success...I am now on day 11 and have lost 12 lbs eating a diet very similar to yours except I have 30 pistaccio nuts a day for a snack and a different salad each day for lunch. I started at 218 and I couldn't believe my eyes when the scale read 206 this morning...way to go with the weight loss!! |
