Someone who weighs more will probably lose their "first few pounds" faster.... but it all depends on you. :) You can do anything you set your mind to. Have you read the South Beach Diet book? Are you on that way of eating? Are you exercising? That could play a big part in how fast your weight comes off and maintenance.

Good luck to you!

A 200 pounder will lose weight much much faster.

135 may be your ideal weight. Before you go on a diet consult your doctor. If your doc tells you that you need to lose weight then follow his advice.

how tall are you? if you are 5 feet tall then by all means loose a few but if you are 5'6" then you have a healthy BMI already. thats Body mass index. which is the best way to tell how healthy you are. try googleing Body mass index calculator. find a page that will tell you whats healthy for you height and size.

If you're 135 and want to lose a few pounds, I would doubt that you need a drastic diet or change in your eating habits. Maybe just a few modifications to your daily routine.

If you're 16 and not overweight [at least it doesn't sound like you are, my guess is that you want to be slim and toned], chances are you're fairly active and have a relatively fast metabolism. These should make it easy for you to drop a little weight.

First suggestion is to pay attention to the guidelines of the South Beach Diet, but you shouldn't do Phase 1 at all [you're too young!]. I'd just suggest trying your best to maintain a balanced diet, eat lots of fresh vegetables and lean protein, and watch sugar and empty carbs. Eat as many whole grains as you can, instead of processed flour/white bread type stuff.

If you combine that with regular exercise, you should see yourself losing weight. At 16, you may not have had an opportunity to develop a lot of muscle through sports or workouts if you don't get much exercise, but some running and weight lifting will help you tone up and lose fat.

Before getting on a program as strict as this one, just do a little self-check and see if your diet is healthy and low-carb and whether you're getting enough regular exercise. Try that plan for a while and if it's not working after months of that routine, you could try a more aggressive weight-loss plan.
