probably because the file size exceeds 6 kb, or the pixel size exceeds 80 by 80. This is for the direct upload. I have seen some animated avatars, so I am assuming you may be able to host them somewhere else and just use the linking option. Give that a try. But most animated avatars are multiple images and much larger in size than they allow to be uploaded to their own servers.

redroxco, i have them downloaded into my pictures. and i use them on another site that i go to all the time. their posting reply box has an insert picture and when i click on it i then go to mypicture file pick which one i want , hit add photo and it's added to my message.

it's not a big deal , i just think they are fun to use.

i never see any moving icons on this board so i guess it's not available for us on here.

on the other board you can get the ticker to work , but you have to redo it everytime you post. it's not added to your profile like this sites.

thank you sir, nana.

Different boards have different "rules" and different file size allocation guidelines. If you try hosting those moving images on the net somewhere else like www.tinypics.com or http://imageshack.us/ and then using the IMG tags to link to them that might work. This particular board seems very "stingy" with its ability to allow you to upload things like images to their servers. A 6 kb file is very small for instance. Most boards allow much larger files for avatars. If you are pointing to them on your PC that means they are allowing you to upload that image to their servers. This place doesn't do that, presumably because they don't want to spend the money it costs to provide all that storage for its members for free. But if you host it somewhere else and just link to it, then they aren't paying for the storage space to host it for you. Does that make any sense?

why are you only a guest now? Did you try to change your colors in your profile or something? That has been known to knock a screenname for a loop and make it impossible to re-login again afterwards. If that is the case, I hate to say it but you may need to recreate another account under a new screenname. I think that's what others have had to do. Hopefully that isn't the case for you and you are just forgetting to log in or something else simple like that.

Edit. Oh wait, you were talking about that kind of emoticon like those on EZBoard forums! Well seems to work! BTW, LyndaB has a good site she links to with all kinds of those things. Not sure what it is, but if you run across one of her posts where you see a fun emoticon like that, right click on it and go to the menu item, Properties and it will show you the URL it is linking to. For instance, yours was linked to "http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/9370/banghead3ka.gif" That might be an easier route than hosting all those little emoticon images separately and remembering where you stored them! Good luck! I always liked the banging head one!

your welcome! I think this forum is really more just for suggested improvements. And even then I'm not sure the site admin or anyone really looks at them and responds to any of them. I do check in once in awhile to see if there are any of the simple "how do I" kinds of questions I might be able to answer though. Glad I could help on both your issues. Most of the time the answers are pretty simple, it's just a matter of knowing where to look or how to do something that isn't explained anywhere! ;)
