I have been faithful to Phase I for almost a week (without cheating) :P and have been very successful losing four pounds to date :!: . My boyfriend, however, a former sweets junkie, has not been faithful and has substituted a Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream Sundae every night for the Ricotta Cheese dessert to help control his terrible cravings  . You would think he would have failed miserably :? , but to my surprise, he has lost FIVE pounds in five days :D !!! I have not yet tried this new recipe, but will start incorporating it tonight into my daily routine. He is so happy with it, he is actually going to start following each lunch with it in place of the sugar free Jello too!! :) So, for those of you that need a GREAT quick fix when you get a craving for Chocolate and Peanut Butter and Ice Cream, try throwing them all together in one and it will definitely take care of your sweets cravings until the next night!!

Here's the recipe he uses (and I will soon too!):

1.5 cups Breyers Low Fat Frozen Yogurt (Vanilla)
5 Tablespoons Hershey's Low Fat Chocolate Syrup
4 Tablespoons Natural Peanut Butter (Phase One Approved) - MELTED

It makes for a delightful treat...and in Phase I has seen great results with my boyfriend!! I'll keep you posted on my progress with this scrumptious solution for sweets lovers!!! :D

That's amazing your boyfriend is still losing weight. Sounds yummy. But Dr. A says frozen yogurt is actually worse than full fat ice cream because of the sugar. Ice cream has sugar, too, but the fat slows the glucose spike in your blood. Frozen yogurt doesn't have the fat to slow the sugar absorption. Also check the sugar content of the low fat chocolate syrup. The treat you describe might be ok for a splurge every once in a while, but a daily routine will defeat the diet. But hey, if you lose weight on it, who am I to say.

I'm going to buy regular ice cream next week for my dh. It's the one thing he misses the most. He's going to indulge a couple nights a week and see what happens. I think it will keep him sane. Now the problem will be how much willpower do I have to stay out of it if it's in the house?!?? ;)

I am wondering how these beachers prevailed? Their posts are from March 04, and I hope they are still seeing a loss in weight. If you read this, please post to let us know if the daily sugar intake made you stall out.
Thanx.

Cheryl :)
