Has anyone heard of this or tried it? I have been on South Beach since April 2005 and lost 27lbs, my son lost 13lbs, my sister lost 18lbs and we are very pleased with SB. I have a friend who is needs to loose alot of weight and I told her when she got back from vacation next month I would explain SB to her. She complained that she doesn't cook and stuff and kept giving me excuses. Anyway, I told her to enjoy her vacation and I would help her as much as I could even teach her to cook or make extra when I cooked. Today she told me she signed up for this Idiot Proof diet and I am shocked. She said you lose 9lbs every 11 days and you keep doing this and you can eat what you like. I checked the website and I don't see how you can make this a way of life. Can someone explain to me this diet? To me it doesn't look so healthy, but then again I love SB and find it a very easy way to eat for life that's healthy.

It sounds like she wants a quick fix. I have seen ads for that Idiot proof diet but it doesn't seem healthy at all. Are they diet pills? Thats the only thing I can think of that would let you eat anything you want and still lose that much.

Good Luck trying to bring her to the beach :)

I think the fact that it has Idiot in the title is a big sign

Your friend will be very disappointed no diet ever works without eating modification and excersise period. In fact she is libel to put her health at risk if she is significantly overweight. Also 9 pounds every 11 days my butt even surgery doesn't take it off that fast. Don't want to call your friend a fool but I'm with the person who noted "idiot" in the title. Who ever thought that one up is coning the desperate and making a mint.

I know a woman who did that plan... it didn't work, even though she was completely dedicated to it. She lost a bunch of weight the first week, then she'd gain all that back, plus more the second week. Their methods don't make it a safe or sensible weight loss plan at all.

Tell you friend that her health would be much better served by trying SB.

I just went and checked the link for this diet and it sounds bizarre. I would have cut and pasted from the site but for some reason I cannot. Apparently the dieter is not eating the right foods at the right times and somehow they will change all that by giving you some sort of chart to follow. They also say that they can have 3 days to cheat in anyway they want! This diet has absolutely NO scientific basis AND it costs $27 to sign up. Sounds to me like the perfect way to mess up your metabolism and its being sold to desperate folk like your friend. Seems shes going to learn the hard way, eh?

I think she realized that she foolishly spent $27 for nothing. Once she read the diet, she said it was crap. She promised to listen to me and I sent her this forum to read. Hopefully she will understand better that there is no easy way and quick way to lose weight and keep it off without eating healthy. You can't live at McDonald's and expect to lose. Thank you for all your responses.

Look in the thread "other diets"; there is quite a bit of info on this.
