Amazing progress! You obviously lost a lot of weight before you started SBD. Just curious... how did you lose the weight before?
Fantastic job! |

You all are so wonderful, thank you so much for taking the time to look at my pics and for leaving such motivating and complimenting messages for me to see. It's really encouraging.
Soulips, to answer your: "Amazing progress! You obviously lost a lot of weight before you started SBD. Just curious... how did you lose the weight before?" - Ever since a little while after that first pic was taken, I became a serial dieter. Mostly, it was ridiculously low-fat diet and joining a gym for the first time in my life. Here's what happened, though: I was eating 30g of fat per day, then I graduallly cut that down to only 10g per day, PLUS I was working out at the gym doing cardio and weights 3-6 days per week. Eventually I was eating very little calories and working out at the gym usually 2 hours each time I was there. About once a week I would give myself a cheat day to blow off some steam and to boost my metabolism (to trick my body into thinking I was NOT starving it so it would burn calories). And those cheat days were from morning till night and I ate all I could take - it was nuts.
What's funny, is I never got under 260-something when I was in that phase. I just kept on plateauing out. I'd have to bump up the cardio from 30 minutes to 40, to 50 and so on... until I was spending 2 hours at that gym. I finally gave up because I realized there was no way in a real life situation I was going to spend that much time and more (the next plateau) for the rest of my life, or for years at least.
I know when that first pic was taken I was over 300lbs. Just not sure what the exact number was - I was not fond of scales and I stayed away from them.
Thanks again for your compliments, guys! Have a great weekend. |

| It definitely sounds like you've found a MUCH more livable and sensible plan with SBD! You certainly couldn't have maintained your weight loss by eating like you were before. SBD is a way of eating that you CAN keep for the rest of your life... so you can maintain your new weight. Yep, been there done that on the super-low fat diet. I actually gained 6 pounds in about 4 weeks because I was eating so many carbs (obviously, I didn't know that was the reason then). I'm glad you're hear on the Beach with the rest of us! |

Soulips, I'm glad I'm here on the beach with all of you, too!
sahara - thanks for the pat on the back and for the great compliment!
sidapco - I don't really have any updated photos right now that show me very well. But here's one we took in Chicago, of me being a goof!
Not sure how much more weight I've lost since the last pic on here... I know I've lost about 50-60lbs since 1/29/05 - it's been a long journey.
Thanks for stopping in and checking me out! |
