The first pic was last 4th of july, several months before SBD but I looked about the same when I started. The second one was taken a few weeks ago, and I've lost a few pounds since then. I can't really see the difference, even though I've lost 20 pounds now and a lot of people I know have noticed. I still feel like I look huge, and can't stand to see the number on the scale - how is it that people can weigh the same and carry it so differently? Anyway, thanks for all the encouragement on this board!

Emily, I can definately see a major difference. It is important that you don't become obsessed with the numbers on the scale. Your body is changing and you are eating healthy now and losing weight! Those are the important things to remember. Be sure to give yourself the credit you are due, you have lost 20 pounds!! That is a great weight loss and it will continue, sometimes not are our desired speed though.
I think you look beautiful and are doing great.... keep up the good work and don't be so focused on the numbers. |

Absolutly a difference.
I had the same problem a few years back when I dropped about 25 pounds. (I did it really fast though) I saw no difference and eventually gave up. Gained back the 25 and added about 15 more. Fun Fun.
Was suppose to start South Beach yesterday... think I'll start tomorrow... but this is definitly a reminder for me and others... you lose the weight but you might not notice, but others will. Hopefully, eventually, are "fat-eyes" will see the reality of weightloss. |

| You are so pretty  . I can tell a definite difference in your face. You should feel very proud, losing 20 pounds is no small task!!! Sometimes I think it just takes awhile for our self perception to catch up. Just take in the compliments and keep up the good work, you'll get there! |

I can most definitely see a difference. Your face is much more slender and beautiful, and your shoulders are smaller as well. 20 pounds DOES make a difference.

There is a definite difference in your photos. Just 20 pounds of weight loss has helped your great smile stand out even more and has made those beautiful eyes even more beautiful. Your beauty is shining more each day! Keep up the great work!
About not being able to see the weight loss... I can totally sympathize! Even after losing 55 pounds from my heaviest weight, I still envision myself (most days) as being the fattest I've ever been. There is some sort of weird psychological mind warp that happens to some of us. My only advice is to keep "before" and "now" photos close at hand. When I see photos of me before and photos of me now, it really helps me find a little reality and perspective. It is not uncommon to not see your own progress. Don't let that keep you from continuing to work toward your goal(s)! |
