How much do you have a week to spend on food? I think this Ramen diet is probably the WORST thing you could do...my stepbrother ate NOTHING but white rice and ramen noodles for the longest time, and @gasp!!@ during that exact same time his face broke out soooo bad he had to go on accutane. (his face is still full of scars! )
The long and short: NOT WORTH IT!! Everyone else is right- go to farmers markets!! |

at the beggining I thought you were just kidding, but after you said about the carrots diet, I see that you are a serious case....but here everybody is giving you good ideas.....and like most of us said: LEARN TO COOK!...I did not know how to cook either.....and the first 2 years living in this country I survived with mcdonalds and ramen soup...I dont know how much weight I gained, but just looking my pictures of the time you can tell a big difference....I realize I need to do a change when my face was full of pimples and I needed size L (used to be S)....and then decided to start the SBD...thanks to SB I tried to cook and well, now I am almost an expert :) (just exagerating)
anyway....good luck in your diet |

I have one word for you: TOFU!
It's super cheap (I just picked up a package-4 servings-for $1.59 yesterday), and a good source of protein and vitamins. I am in no way a vegetarian, but if you replace a couple of meat meals a week with tofu, it will save you a bunch of money. Also, salad vegetables are not all that expensive. Just get a couple of heads of iceburg lettuce (super cheap although not as good in vitamins) and mix it with some spinach, carrots & tomatoes with a little meat for a filling, nutritious salad.
I suggest using the firm tofu for cooking (slice it up, marinade it, and throw it in a frying pan) and the soft or silk tofu for desserts or smoothies. It really does fill you up and is very dense in protein and nutrients for super cheap.
Also, although I like to cook, I don't often have the time, so I just spend an afternoon each weekend making a bunch of stuff and freezing it in serving size portions. Voila! Homemade frozen dinners to be enjoyed the rest of the week. |
