Has anyone tried the "Core Plan" diet plan of Weight Watchers?
Is this similar to SB?

I need to get back on something and I'm trying to decide if I want to go back on SB or try the " Core Plan".

The WW Core foods plan is very similar to South Beach. I was doing core plan for seven weeks before I hit the Beach.

Some foods are allowed on Core Plan and not on SB - unlimited fruits, corn, one white potato per day. Also there are 35 "flex points" per week for use however you like.

Some are allowed on SB and not on Core Plan - Whole grain breads, and mayonaise for instance.

In some ways the WW plan is more flexible than SB, but it doesn't have a "detox" time like the SB Phase 1.

My mother is still doing the WW core foods plan, and she's lost 28 lbs in 4 months. I lost 1.4 lbs in seven weeks. I can't put my finger on why SB works for me and the WW plan doesn't, but it works for her.

I completely stalled out on the Core Plan, but I did maintain. I changed to SB and immediately started losing weight again. Maybe the change simply shocks the metabolism?

I was on WW Points from Jan 15 - Feb 26 and I lost 20 pounds. But then I stalled so I started SB. I think the change did help me Jump Start the weight loss. And when I had another stall I started exercising and that started the weight loss again. And when it slowed down again I added more exercise and that helped. I do think that changing things up a bit does help. I try to do the same with my food choices. I eat eggs for breakfast for 1 week and then change to canadian bacon for 1 week. It seems to keep the weight moving off my body.

I had done SB for about 8 months, and lost 30 pounds (out of 135 needed to lose). After the holidays, I tanked. Dumped the diet, dumped the exercise -- gained back 20 pounds. I decided to try the Core plan (starting Monday) -- like the sound of it better than SB because of a few things -- corn and peas, potatoes once a day, etc, plus I think the lower fat might work better for me. I also like that NOTHING is "Avoid" -- you just have to limit it to the number of Flex Points you have.

I had been a Lifetime member of WW for years (lost 75 pounds almost 20 years ago), but can't attend meetings because of scheduling, so just joined "online" and got the Core Food List and the tips, etc. Their message boards suck, though, so I'd like to post here if anyone else is interested in keeping a regular Core board?
