I too am a 6wbmo dropout. I lost 27 pounds last year and was giving it a second try (gained it bck). Too be honest it was so limiting I could not bear to fix a meal. And forget ever eating out. My husband and I switched to SB just yesterday and I felt like I was eating like a queen. Veggies that I could not have on other and in 2 weeks fruit. I could have apples and banana on 6wbmo but I was tired of only 2 oz of fish or chicken. Congrats to those who can stay on it for a lifetime but for me and my hubbie, SB is going to be a life style change for us.

I'm hoping to use the 6wbmo program as a start-up, then use the SB as a long-term maintenance program.

It's usually the slow weight-loss start that discourages me from staying on a healthy diet... so I'm hoping this piggy-back technique will take the best of both programs.

Does anyone who has decided to go straight SB have a 6wbmo kit they would be interested in selling ( for a deal of course  )

Please don't hesitate to shoot me an email at krysoutman@yahoo.com

Best of luck to everyone... I look forward to sharing some recipes in the next few months.

Why piggy back when the SBD works so well in the first few weeks. I lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks and my dh lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks. Is that not fast enough? I was exstactic. I lost nearly 30 lbs in about 2 1/2 months! My DH lost 60 lbs in 4 months both of us reaching our goal weights.

I also did 6WBMO twice so far and it does work but it is way too restrictive and everything's so bland in taste. If you "only" need to loose 20 or 30lbs the 6WBMO is good but to live like that forever? No way. I just can't do that. I missed my dairy soooooo much.
I'm starting SB tomorrow. Wish me luck.

I was on the SWBMO for I dont even know how long. I lost 11lbs in 1 week. the food is horrible and at times i was close to vomiting. this is seemingly easier i jus wish there was a way to lose the weight quickly. I'm not even sure if I'm doing it right

I've been doing the 6wbm for the last 10 weeks and I really miss FIBER!!! I think I'm getting too much protein and no whole grains!!

Plus, I saw the SBD meals in my frozen food section - yippeee!! No more spending 2 hours a weekend cooking so I can eat the same thing all week!!!

Anyone else in the same boat?? I'm going to go buy the book today and give it a try - anyone else switch from 6wbm to sbd?

My results haven't been that astounding. I've only lost .5lbs and am on day 11 of phase 1. Hopefully I'll see some results pretty soon. It's TOM so I'm hoping that has been a factor. Before I was a carboholic big time, so I thought sure I'd drop at least 5-8 lbs just from cutting out all of the sodas, breads, sugars, etc. but boy has my body been playing a trick on me these past few days. This time the ol bod is making me wait and work hard to drop those extra lbs. , but I'm not giving up. I hanging in there. I'm graduating (finally) from college and will begin job hunting and hopefully relocating in early to mid 2005 and I really don't want to go on interviews at this size (237lbs) .

Dont worry too much about not losing, just taking this step is impressive. I bought the 6WBMO diet and I felt so sick and deprived during the first week that I never stuck to it. One of my co-workers was just starting SB and I did it with her just for moral support and my results have been great. I lost 12.5 lbs during Phase I and since then I have steadily been losing 1.5 - 2 lbs every week (except during my TOM when I tend to retain water and I always weigh in about 5 lbs heavier than usual). Don't lose heart Lyn it will start coming off and you will be so happy with the results. Besides the obvious weight loss factor, there is also the fact that I feel alot healthier than I did before and dont get out of breath just climbing a flight of stairs. Well Lyn that's just my two cents but stick with the program and you will be amazed.

Hi y'all!
I just stumbled across this forum and it is a relief to hear that I'm not the only one that had trouble with the 6WBMO! I purchased it three or so years ago and up until 6months ago I was on and off that diet plan like a light bulb! Honestly I would not touch this diet or recommend it to anyone.. It turned me into a obsessive compulsive type personality -- as you eat every 2.5 - 3 hrs and you are always thinking about food.. Sure it is effective.. but I ended up struggling with extreme body image when I failed even just a little bit... once you have something off the diet the tastes are sooooo extremely good that you just go nuts.. I produced a major binging issue through this diet! It was very hard on my body 'cause i was going on and off -- plus i didn't appreciate my lack of bowel movements! as there is NO fiber in this diet! Maybe if I never had to have any social interactions at all and I wanted to always be puppeted by this gravely! strict diet -- then maybe it would work! Don't do it -- I have since bought the SB book and cook book and though I'm not completely on this plan I have since let go of being so caught up in dieting -- i eat... i stay in tune with how full i'm getting and i have since lost those pounds i've been juggling with for the last three years! I'm happy and feel good about myself! Michale Thurman can kiss it!

:D I am new to the SBD, but I am NOT new to the 6WBMO diet. I was on and off it for a year, and I loved it. I lost 25 lbs in 7 weeks....and then I was off and on and off...BUt I have NOt gained any of the weight back at all, and its been a year. The only thing about the plan I hated was having to eat every 3 hours. You no sooner eat and get busy doing someting and its time to eat again......
So Im here on SB...trying it out. Im reading the books...but feeling a little silly cuz I just dont get it. ( I think cuz Ive done the other one for sooo long its gonna be hard to re-train the brain)
So IM HERE LOOKING FOR HELP AND LOTS OF SUPPORT. I have 55 lbs I wanna lose. I also found on provida is wa very hard to get support. If you werent part of a group from the beginning of it...it was hard to be let in......
So I hope to hear from some of you......together we can lose....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)

Make no mistake, Michael Thurman's program is effective.

I've tried MANY programs- the 6 Day Total Body Makeover does work.

However, I personally found this plan to be a form of cruel and unusual punishment. While effective -your food choices are very, very limited (it make SBD Phase 1 look like a complete walk in the park!) It is also very boring because the cravings set in fast, to want different foods.

Men also get to eat a lot more than women on Thurman's program. As a woman I felt short-changed, and very hungry.

I found it very hard to stick with so I dropped the plan. I would never do it again, even though it worked. It's nto worht the mental trauma.

I think SBD will be much easier and more realistic to stick with.
